About the Owner/Advertiser, Mrs Celia Greenslade

Chris and I (Celia) have been running hotels and restaurants in the UK for over 40 years. We decided that we would love to continue this way of life and fell in love with this region of France over 15 years ago when we found Le Pommier de Houesville. We have lovingly converted the barns attached to our home whilst retaining the integrity of 18th Century barns. We have a goat's cheese farm just a 5 minute walk away and buy our eggs from just over the hedge - perfect as far as we are concerned!

Why this location? This location has something for everyone. The tranquil setting is ideal for those wanting to get away from it all, whilst being at the heart of the Normandy D Day landings region and being close enough to visit all of the local towns and villages, stunning beaches, museums, nature reserves to name but a few. Please visit our website for a more detailed list of places to visit and things to do.Chris and I are just next door, so on call if you need advise or help.
Unique benefits of property Set in extensive lawned gardens the 18th Century stone barns offer 21st century living whilst retaining their original integrity. Indeed, the barns are still giving up their secrets of occupied France when we find yet another artifact from WW2 hidden in a nook and cranny.
The gite has been designed with an open plan kitchen and dining area so has a light, airy and sociable feel and opens straight out onto the terrace so you can enjoy a glass of wine and bbq.
Rented all year and fully heated with a log burner for those Autumn or winter evenings, so is ideal for a romantic week or short break away.
Every thought has been given to the needs of our guests and C and C Gites provide hotel standards but with the freedom of self catering.

Having just spent a week in the Gite at Le Pommier we found it to be everything it said on the website and much much more. Beautifully furnished, comfortable beds and a very well equipped kitchen for all our needs.

Chris and Celia who live next door were the perfect hosts and only too pleased to answer any questions we had and advise us on places to go. On our arrival we found a welcome pack consisting of cheese, butter, bread, wine, fruit eggs and more. Just the thing for our first nights stay.

If you are looking for a mixture of first class accommodation, peace and tranquillity, glorious beaches and villages with a lot of history thrown in, this is the place to go. I cannot praise it enough and we will certainly be booking again for next year.

We were made to be so welcome from Chris and Celia at their beautiful gite in the heart of Normandy. We arrived to a house full of goodies including milk, eggs, croissants, butter, bread, beer and wine which was very much welcomed by us both. The house is just perfect with everything on hand, a log burner, very comfortable beds and beautiful gardens with views to die for.
We would 100 per cent recommend this property with these wonderful hosts.
Thank you Celia and Chris. See you next year xx
