  • We greet our guests from 4pm on the day of arrival usualy on Saturday and we ask you to vacate the Gite before 10 am on the day of departure.
     
    All linen and towels are provided, as are the basics in the kitchen.
    A welcome pack will be waiting for you.

About this property

Large 2 Bed Gite In Peacefull Lovely Suroundings. This cottage/gite is in a rural setting.

A large 2 bedroom self contained fully equipped and renovated cottage in quiet rural setting with superb views over rolling hills and farmland, there is a sunny private space for outdoor dining and the use of a bbq. We have English tv and wi-fi for your convenience.
In front of the gite is a lovely big lawn for the children to run around and play.

Kitchen and dining

Newly fully fitted kitchen with gas hob and electric oven, a microwave and a fridge freezer it also includes a dish washer, all the crockery, glassware and kitchen utensils you will need for your stay, and there is an extendable dinning table to seat 6 people.
A baby high chair is available on request.

Living rooms

With rugged traditional stone walls the living room has a three and a two seater sofa you can relax in front of the log burning fire and watch the tv which has English channels or enjoy the selection of films on the dvd player.

Bedrooms

Upstairs you have a large room with double bed, with linen and towels a walk-in wardrobe and chest of draws it has beautiful views from the double glazed windows.
The second bedroom comes with twin beds which can be converted into a large double, also with linen and towels provided. A wardrobe and more stunning views.

Bathrooms

Tiled bathroom with over bath shower, wash basin, toilet and an electric towel rail.

Heating

On the ground floor in the lounge there is an wood burning fire within the fireplace, whilst upstairs the bedroom has an electric heater, and with an electric heated towel rail in the bathroom

Entertainment

Tv and dvd player with a selection of dvds and books.

Garden and outside

Outside is a garden with a large lawn, mature hedges and trees with an ornamental cider press which is planted up with a range of pretty flowers.

Parking and garages

An ample parking area is at the entrance to the property.

Visitor suitability

Sadly the layout of the gite means that we cannot accommodate the disabled.

About the Owner/Advertiser, Mr Paul Bailey

We are Paul & Jan Bailey and having been in the hospitality industry during our working lives and having visited France on numerous occasions where we enjoyed the food and wine, we decided to retire to France and buy ourselves a property with Gites so that we could show others how wonderful the French countryside is.

Year property purchased 2016
Why this location? The location of this property was chosen for the views it provides the quiet peaceful atmosphere, it's proximity to the ferry ports, coast and forests and tourist highlights. Caen and St Malo are just over an hour away and Cherbourg 2 hrs. Le Mont St Michel takes only 45 mins. and the historic walled towns of Fougiere and Mortain are
Unique benefits of property We are located in a rural setting, we are on the property, but are very separate so you cane come and go without any intrusion, but we are on hand to help at any time.

One of France's top destinations is only 46 Km (45Min) away, its charming historic setting and well organised, a must see.

Fourgere and Mortain


These local towns are about 1/2 hour away and are just 2 of the many lovely historic towns in our area, with beautiful churches and castles.

Markets and Antiques

Most towns have a weekly market, the Weds market in St Hilaire du Harcouet is the best in the area and used by the French from miles around and for antiques there are numerous shops called Brocantes in the area

We fully recommend La Fosse which is 1.5 hours from Caen and just over an hour from St Malo ports. We wanted a comfortable "getaway from it" holiday week with our 8 and 9 year old and it did not disappoint. It is peacefull gite with large garden and far reaching views. The accomodartion is a good size. We had the most comfortable beds and bedding, quality lounge furniture and fantastic water pressure for showering and cooking, all fully equipped inc.gas cooker and dishwasher and WIFI. There is a wealth of tourist attractions and historic places to visit in the area as well as St Mont Michell and the coast beyond 30 to 40 minutes away. The nearby town St Hilaire is within 3 miles and has 3 supermarkets Lidl, Le Clerc and Carrefour. Our hosts Paul and Jan were lovely, very informative with nothing too much trouble. We shall gladly stay again and we consider it was good value for money. We had a great week!
