About the Owner/Advertiser, Mrs Catherine Fox

We purchased this 18th Century Farm Estate in 2013 and moved to France in 2017. We decided to retire very early from the Midlands area of UK after selling our business and property and are excited about opening our wonderful Farmhouse to the public whom we are sure will love France as much as we do. It is a slower pace of life with little stress and is much more laid back than the 'rat race' of life in the UK. <br/>The views over the Normandy countryside from our farmhouse are truly amazing.

Year property purchased 2012
Why this location? Before moving to Normandy we had many fabulous holidays in this area and fell in love with the diversity this area has to offer. You can make the holiday as busy or as relaxed as you want there is plenty to do if you want to get about but is also perfect to sit and relax and read a book. There are stunning views, rural yet close enough to the shops, beaches, and places of interest. Only five minutes from the Brittany boarder yet situated in Normandy it really is the best of both worlds.
Unique benefits of property A pet friendly renovated farmhouse all three bedrooms are en suite. Downstairs there is a large open plan lounge / Dinning area and a very well equipped kitchen with patio doors leading out to a patio seating area and lovely garden, where you can sit and admire the beautiful tranquil views of Normandy.

We both speak English and are learning to speak French.

The cottage is excellent value for money, beautifully decorated and very sympathetically renovated keeping many of the original features. There are three comfy bedrooms two doubles and a twin room all with bathroom facilities and lovely large showers, with great water pressure. Better than we have had in other cottages/ gites. The location is fantastic close to everything you need, near some lovely sandy beaches to walk the dog and forests to explore in with him to. A great stay for the family, the secure garden for the dog was real bonus. Catherine & Shaun are the best of hosts full of information and places to go and visit. We will defiantly recommend Foxes Farm as an excellent place to visit and you can see the Mont Saint Michel from the end of the road very good indeed. Excellent hosts, excellent value for money, what more can i say it was a perfect trip thank you.

Great spot in the beautiful Normandy countryside and not far from historical sites like amazing Mont St Michel. The house is great, very clean and new, feels very homely and we were made to feel really welcome by the lovely owners who are on site if you need any help. Would definitely recommend as a perfect location for a weekend getaway.

I had the pleasure of staying for a night over the Christmas period and I must say it really was a pleasure! The gîte is a good size, extremely clean with a log burner and good sized open plan lounge, dining area and kitchen. The kitchen has everything you need, a lovely garden out the back overlooking the fields, a well fitted modern bathroom again with everything you need and a comfy bed. Foxes Farm is ideally located near to local amenities and Mont St Michel is just down the road by car. The gîte is extremely well furnished and decorated very tastefully and all fittings are of a high standard. Shawn and Catherine were extremely welcoming and had even put a Christmas tree up for me with Christmas decorations in the gîte ready! Its a wonderful place to stay and I thoroughly recommend it. I can't wait to go and stay again!

Owner response
