About the Owner/Advertiser, Mrs Catherine Fox

We purchased this 18th Century Farm Estate in 2013 and moved to France in 2017. We decided to retire very early from the Midlands area of UK after selling our business and property and are excited about opening our wonderful Farmhouse to the public whom we are sure will love France as much as we do. It is a slower pace of life with little stress and is much more laid back than the 'rat race' of life in the UK. <br/>The views over the Normandy countryside from our farmhouse are truly amazing.

Year property purchased 2012
Why this location? Before moving to Normandy we had many fabulous holidays in this area and fell in love with the diversity this area has to offer. You can make the holiday as busy or as relaxed as you want there is plenty to do if you want to get about but is also perfect to sit and relax and read a book. There are stunning views, rural yet close enough to the shops, beaches, and places of interest. Only five minutes from the Brittany boarder yet situated in Normandy it really is the best of both worlds.
Unique benefits of property A pet friendly renovated farmhouse all three bedrooms are en suite. Downstairs there is a large open plan lounge / Dinning area and a very well equipped kitchen with patio doors leading out to a patio seating area and lovely garden, where you can sit and admire the beautiful tranquil views of Normandy.

We both speak English and are learning to speak French.

Really enjoyed staying at Foxes Farm - the accommodation had everything we needed for a 2 week holiday - Catherine and Shaun could not have been more helpful and friendly - plenty of interesting places to visit nearby - beaches for Emily and towns, villages and restaurants for all of us. All in all a great holiday and a brilliant place to stay - highly recommended - we will be back for sure.

We stayed at Foxes Farm 23-30 June 2018, the owners of the property Catherine & Shaun couldn't be more helpful.
On our arrival they were there to welcome us, they had put some basics in the fridge for us which also included a few cold beers and some wine.
The property is set in a rural location so nice and peaceful with the nearest village about 1Km away which has a small shop/bar.
The gite is very well kitted out with 2 doubles &1twin bedded room, there is a washing machine / dishwasher / microwave etc in the kitchen.
At the rear there is a 120 foot garden ideal for sitting out in the late afternoon early evening, with a beer or glass of wine. At the front there is a large open area for parking.
There are quite a lot of places to visit and explore around the area.
We would defiantly recommend Foxes Farm, and hopefully return there in the near future.
Thanks for a great place to stay.

This is our second trip to this lovely part of France and it definitely wont be our last.
Foxes Farm is an ideal getaway for my family, the spacious farmhouse and lovely gardens surrounded by farmland, trees and idyllic views is a lovely setting with space for everyone.

The couple who own the Gite are very welcoming and professional, they are there if you need them but otherwise leave you alone. They gave us us lots of ideas of places to eat and things to do during our holiday, they are very knowledgeable about the area. The beautiful clean sandy beaches are just a short drive away and are breathtaking. There are plenty of shops nearby and each village seems to have their own bakery and bar, bliss.

The Gite comes very well equipped for eating both inside or in the lovely garden, we cooked a BBQ most nights and eat in the garden at the spacious table and chairs just watching the beautiful sunsets.

We found this Gite to be excellent value for money it has all the essentials that you could need for a perfect holiday.

It is so relaxing and peaceful here we did not want to leave, we will back next summer.

Owner response

We had a wonderful stay at Foxes Farm with our daughter and my parents. The Gite was great so well equipped and beautifully clean. It really does have everything you need all you need to take are your clothes and food, Catherine & Shaun have thought of everything else.

Having stayed in many self catering places before this is really the best and is five star. The beds are lovely and comfy and the kitchen is very well stocked with everything you need, especially the washing machine and dishwasher. The kids thought the big TV in the lounge was a very good plus point.

The back garden is a sun trap which faces south and has a lovey patio area with loungers and table and chairs and a lovely well looked after lawn area for the kids to play on.

An excellent location only 30 minutes from stunning sandy beaches and 10 minutes from shops and supermarkets, and a large selection of restaurants and cafes nearby. The Normandy countryside is so lovely and tranquil.

Catherine & Shaun are lovely hosts who really did make you feel at home and nothing was too much trouble we loved our holiday to Foxes Farm and will be coming back next year.

We have recommended this Gite to all of our friends and family its a great place to stay we loved it!

Owner response
