We are very centrally located in Normandy, we might be classed as a sleepy village by some which is nice but we've got everything close by to cover all ages - please read some of the comments we've had this year. From local knowledge to great days out.

I've just completed my first year renting my gite, from the response I've had I think it's gone ok I've tried to listen to all comments and do what was required to make the gite what people won't when they come to stay. I've even got some bookings for next year including 1 rebooking from this year.

I'm installing a decking area with a barbecue this winter ready for next year.
Unique benefits of property It is new built with 3 double bedrooms, full kitchen, open plan living & 1 bedroom is en suite, central heating throughout, off road parking and in village.

Kitchen has washer, fridge, cooker and microwave, a full set of sauce pans and utensils. Master bedroom has wardrobes, bed side cabinets and en suite bathroom with free standing bath, the 2 additional bedrooms are double with drawers and bedside cabinets. The main bathroom has a shower with body jets radio and seat. The main living area is open plan living including seating tv and dining area seating 6.

The village is a quite area with a bakery and cafe were meals are available fresh daily (highly recommended by recent visitors) a beautiful old church and the local Marie. We have a golf corse and a beautifull lake 10 mins away and if you like fishing Lac de Val is only 5 mins away.

We have zoos, pleasure and water parks, and even a reptile centre, beaches and historical sites all within a hour or less from the gite, something for all ages from peace and quiet to all day fun all year round.

We even have a local golf course and fishing lake if you won't to catch the big ones that don't get away, just 5 minutes from the gite.

My wife and I and son had a lovely time in the gite. It is in a quiet but friendly village with a bread and cake shop to die for, there is also a small friendly bar and mini market. It is central for anywhere in Normandy including the Normandy landing Beeches and the museum and cemetery dedicated to the allied troops which are a must to visit along with the most impressive Bayeux tapestry. We also took the train from Vire which is a large town 15 minutes away to Paris. We took the 8.30am train which arrived in Paris bang on time. we also visited the Mount st San Michael which is about one hour and 15 minutes drive just over the border with Brittainy which is well worth the trip. We are booking again for two weeks next year as one week was not long enough. Everything went like clockwork thanks to the owner Brian who gave us all the directions of the places to visit, approximate travel times and where to eat. Thank you Brian for a wonderful week. Ray, Sheila and John

Hi myself my wife and three older teenage girls stayed at Brian’s Gite this summer and found it to be a fantastic house in a great setting . It looks out over the fields and woodland which is lovely when sleeping upstairs with the windows wide open . As there is no light from village the views of the stars are amazing .
Brian is a great host and gave us endless things to go and do in the area ,the beach is a hour away there are great walks and you get a great feel for French small village life in Normandy . All in all it is a lovely Gite in a lovely small village and a great place to relax away from the busy life’s we all lead !!
Thanks again Brian

The gite is just as described - a very nice, spacious, well equipped new build. Brian the owner is really hospitable and helpful, and has great knowledge of the region.
Gathemo is a sleepy village with friendly locals and a great bakery! It’s rural location gives lovely views, good walks locally and dark skies at night so it’s brilliant for stargazers.
There is a choice of bustling towns with markets, supermarkets, and restaurants just a short drive away.
There are lots of activities and places of interest close by, plus opportunities to travel further if you want to - Paris by train, or a visit to The Channel Islands are both possible day trips. We enjoyed two weeks here and found Brian’s gite to be a great base for visiting just about anywhere our Normandy Guide Book recommends.
