Nestled behind a small village, our quaint one-bedroom cottage is ideal for couples or small families. Renovated to traditional Norman style, the gite offers modern kitchen and bathroom and a private terrace for a glass of wine in the evening or morning croissants. Overlooking beautiful cottage gardens, guests enjoy a private parking area, with a well-equipped shop and country bar just a five minute walk away. The gite is self-contained, separate from our home, and we respect your privacy, but we are on hand for any questions or concerns. The next village is just three kilometres away, with a weekly market, top Michelin restaurant, bakery, larger supermarket, pharmacy, post office and even a hairdresser. For bigger shops, there are even larger supermarkets about nine kilometres away. Mont St Michel, the Bayeux Tapestry, beaches, DDay Landing sites are all just an hour away. We are only just over an hour's drive from the Port of Portsmouth.

Kitchen and dining

The modern, French-style eat-in kitchen is includes a fridge, stove, microwave, and washing machine. It is fully equipped with pots and pans, dishes, cooking utensils, everything needed for a two-week or longer holiday.

Living rooms

The cosy yet spacious carpeted living room includes a two piece suit, a double sofa bed, occasional chairs, and a floor to ceiling chimney with insert woodburner for chilly evenings.

Bedrooms

The spacious first floor bedroom with internal balcony entrance is ideal for either a romantic getaway or a family holiday. The two velux windows overlook the beautiful cottage gardens in the front, and the roaming fields to the back, leading to the sea. It has a double bed with bedside table, plenty of space to hang clothing, and a spare bed for one child if desired.

Bathrooms

The modern shower room has a large walk-in shower, toilet and wash basin. toilet and wash basin.

Heating

The gite offers a large chimney with a good-sized wood burner, as well as a gas heater which together provide a warm cosy interior. The first basket of wood is provided, with a nominal charge of seven euros for subsequent baskets.

Entertainment

While we offer our guests a tranquil environment, there are opportunities to use our barn for games and activities, and even children's and family parties, by pre-arrangement. There is also a pertang/summer boules court behind the barn, with some toys for young children.

The gardens and fish ponds are open to everyone to enjoy and explore and if interested, guests can sometimes enjoy a drink with us in the garden gazebo. There is also an apple orchard which is accessible to discover and use for garden games such as badminton.

The shop and French bar is just a five minute walk from the gite.

Our property was ideal as it was only just over an hour from the port of Portsmouth, close to Mont St Michel, Bayeux, beaches, DD Landing and endless historic sites, with plenty of leisure activities nearby, including sailing, canoeing, walking, abseiling, cycling, markets, children's amusements, restaurants and castles, among many others.
