About this property

Traditional Stone Gite Set In Idyllic Location. This cottage/gite is in a rural setting.

Set in the countryside with views over fields, the Gite is built with traditional local stone to match the original farmhouse. A large private garden with pretty flower beds and hazel trees; so watch out for the red squirrels. The terrace is large with garden furniture and a bbq, ideal for looking over to the the rolling hills whilst enjoying a glass of wine and watching the children play in the two storey swiss chalet.

We have designed the Gite to be home from home with comfortable furnishings and well equipped kitchen to make your holiday relaxing.

Please note: For the comfort of guests the gite is non smoking and animals/pets are not accepted.

Kitchen and dining

Modern fitted country style kitchen consisting of :
Washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, gas hob, electric oven, microwave, kettle / coffee-machine and fridge-freezer.

French cook books, iron and ironing board and outside airer and pegs.

Living rooms

The large lounge has a traditional feature stone wall with an abundance of French oak to maintain the authentic feeling. There are south facing french doors which open onto the private garden. Two large comfortable sofas (sofa bed on request) are provided as well as a wonderful high output log burner to keep you warm in the cooler months.

Satellite tv, dvd player with a varied selection of dvd's. Boardgames and books.

A dining table for 8 persons is located in the lounge in front of the french doors - perfect for those warm evenings. The large oak lined arch allows you to see through into the kitchen and communicate with your friends/family whilst meals are being prepared.

Bedrooms

3 Large bedrooms with individual designs and features.

1 x bedroom with king size bed with high quality bedding and an original feature stone wall. It has 3 windows, each providing different aspects of the garden and countryside whilst lying in bed. The room is south facing and so benefits from the sun all day and early evening.

1 x twin bedroom where the beds can be put together (with a extra mattress) to make a super king. Additionally, a cot or junior bed can be installed on request.

1 x double bedroom with en suite. We have kept the original 120 year old oak beam that goes though the bedroom to give character and the en suite has a dedicated walk in shower cubicle, w/c and heated towel rail. The room is south facing so you should get the sun all day and into the early evening.

Bathrooms

Family sized bathroom consisting of:

Bath with shower screen and shower above, wash handbasin, separate walk-in shower, heated towel rail and wc.

Heating

Central heating is fitted though out, along with a quality logburner in the lounge.

Entertainment

Tv, dvd player with assorted selection of dvd's, radio and Wee game.

A selection of toys, boardgames and books for all ages.


Garden and outside

Large Gardens with flower beds, terrace - a superb area on which to wine, dine and relax. The terrace is west facing and so enjoys the sun from midday until late evening.

A bbq is provided along with umbrellas and a large canopy for the terrace. There is sufficient garden furniture for 8 persons consisting of sunloungers and relaxer chairs. Swings, slide, children's Swiss chalet with an upstairs and various toys.
Bike sheds / bikes scooters in an array of sizes.
Large area for football or other games. Rackets and balls, and boules.

Look out for the neighbours pony - Vanille in our front field and she loves carrots/apples.

Parking and garages

Large secure parking area outside the front of the Gite - ideal for unloading on arrival.
Long gated drive. We generally leave the gates open during the day but you are welcome to close them for additional security for your children etc if you prefer.

Visitor suitability

Not suitable for wheelchair uses.
Stairs to all bedrooms. Stair gates will be provided on request.
Two steps up from the foyer though french doors into the kitchen which is then on one level along with the lounge.

Ron and Daphne would like to welcome you to Maison Des Noisetiers. We followed our dream and purchased a home near Villedieu Les Poeles, Lower Normandy. After 10 years of renovation and building works, we are delighted to be able to open our beautiful brand new 3 bedroom Gite to you. We have enjoyed our time building the Gite and appreciate all the help and support from our neighbours and friends. When we have time for ourselves we enjoy visiting the local markets and mixing with the locals.

Why this location? We are located in the idyllic countryside of Lower Normandy, with very easy access to the autoroute system, but only 5 mins by car to the town of Villedieu Les Poeles which is famous for it copper pans and bell foundry that has made the bells for the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.
Villedieu Les Poeles, with its charming architectural heritage has restaurants, bistros, bars and creperies plus numerous local shops famous for their copperware and pottery.
Every Tuesday, a thriving traditional French market is held, selling an array of local produce along with fresh fish and craft goods.
We are close to the WW2 landing beaches, Pegasus Bridge, Caen memorial, Granville known as the Monaco of the North with cosmopolition shops, Christian Dior Museum, sea pool, and harbours. There are miles of sandy beaches for windsurfing and many more activities, with places to visit such as the Bayeux Tapestry, Mont St Michel, Family Zoo at Champrepus and theme parks.
Unique benefits of property We have retained its typical French rustic character by incorporating some of the old beams and hand laid stone walls. This lovingly restored building is set within its own private and tranquil gardens, with delightful unspoilt countryside views. It's a beautiful place to totally relax and enjoy the sounds of local wildlife. In the evening Maison Des Noisetiers terrace is ideal to wine and dine whilst watching the sun go down. It also provides the most stunning and uninterrupted views of the night sky imaginable, due to its perfect location and no light pollution. Inside the Gite we offer a homely and tradition feel whilst having modern amenities.
In the Garden is a swiss style chalet with an upstairs for children to play in which you can watch from the relaxing terrace. We have also tried to make it child friendly with indoor and outdoor toys, with cycles for all ages.
