About this property

Delightful Gîte Full of Character with Indoor Pool. This cottage/gite is in a rural setting.

Les Coudreaux is a small hamlet deep in the beautiful Normandy countryside that has been lovingly converted into gites; it is a wonderful country retreat which perfectly combines the charm and atmosphere of the old with the comfort and convenience of the new.

When we first saw Les Coudreaux, it was a "romantic ruin" but we both knew instantly it was the place for us and we think you'll feel the same about your holiday here.

Basse Normandie is in easy reach of the ferry ports and has lots of things to see and do - all of which are within easy reach of your wonderful "home from home".

One of 2 cottages, Le Trou Normand is our lovely 2 bedroom gite which nestles between Le Petit Bijou and the indoor swimming pool. It is perfect for 2 couples or a family of 4. If you need to accommodate more people, why not check availability of Le Petit Bijou?

Le Trou Normand literally translated means "The Norman Hole"!If you want to understand more about what a Trou Normand really is, then come and stay with us and we'll be delighted to explain and even make a real one for you - they are delicious!

Downstairs, you will find an open plan living space with everything you need for a fantastic self catering holiday. We have retained the best of the original features of what was once a stable - exposed stone walls and oak beams. In the lounge area, you will find a stone fireplace and logburner, 2 comfortable sofas, tv and dvd player.

The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric oven, 4 ring gas hob and extractor fan. You will also find a dishwasher, fridge, freezer and plenty of storage space. In the dining area, there is an oak table and 4 chairs.

On the first floor, there are 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. Bedroom one has a comfortable double bed, wardrobe and dressing table. It is really light and airy and has the added bonus of a full length dormer window and lovely exposed beams.

Bedroom 2 has 2 snuggly single beds. It also has a wardrobe, dressing table and exposed beams. The views across the Norman landscape are spectacular.

The bathroom is light, bright and clean. There is a bath with shower over, wc and a modern rectangular sink. It is tastefully decorated with contemporary blue and white tiles.

Outside, access to a private deck area complete with barbecue, garden table and chairs and 2 sunloungers is via the kitchen door making it easy for those leisurely al fresco meals on balmy summer nights. By the end of June 2012, we will have added "Un jardin secret" - a secret garden, so you can lounge under the fruit trees in you own private corner of Normandy.

We are delighted to offer you a complimentary welcome basket with all the basics to get you going.
Our aim is for you to have a perfect holiday and we really look forward to welcoming you soon.

The Owner Recommends

Crêperie du Menhir

Charming crêperie with a delicious menu and a very warm welcome - you'll want to go back! One of several lovely restaurants within an easy drive of Le Petit Bijou.

Le Mont St Michel

This is a "must see" - superb abbey built on a rock in the Bay of Mt St Michel. Wonderful cobbled streets and quaint village which winds its way up the hill to the abbey - a feat of faith, ingenuity and engineering! Great restaurants selling fantastic seafood.

St Hilaire Market

Fantastic market at St Hilaire du Harcouët on Wednesday mornings - wonderful Normandy cheeses, fruit, vegetables, seafood and fish etc. Plus lots more besides - you can even look at the livestock on sale e.g. chickens, rabbits etc. Well worth a trip.
