Le Petit Chalet is a completely self-contained, ground floor, gite situated in the large mature garden of an equally large house. The house looks out over a beautiful 17th century church which itself is surrounded by pretty and ornamental gardens.
There are local shops and restaurants within easy walking distance but the main attraction in the square has to be the absolutely fabulous 'Patisserie'! During the day locals from all around the surrounding areas arrive to purchase 'their daily bread' (and cakes) . The cakes are simply 'to die for'.
If it's the French way of life you wish to experience then this lovely little 'gem' is for you.
For 1 or 2 people wishing to visit this lovely part of the world which is steeped in history and charm and wanting to stay in quiet and comfortable accommodation then you won't need to look any further. Ideally situated for anybody who's looking for a base from which to visit say, the Normandy Landing Beaches or visit the Chateaux of the Loire Valley or how about the Bayeux Tapestry (the list is endless!)
A £75 returnable security deposit is payable with the balance.

The kitchen is what is known in France as a 'coin cuisine' which means 'corner kitchen'. It is fully equipped including all the usual accessories such as gas oven and hob, microwave, coffee maker, steam-cooker etc.and easy to keep clean and maintain.
The lounge doubles up as the dining room as this is where the dining room table is. 2 comfortable armchairs are set on a carpeted floor opposite a large modern cabinet where the television is (British or French!)
The dining table is small but perfectly usable for 2 people.
The medium-sized bedroom is accessed from the dining room/lounge and has two modern single beds.

There is a separate shower room with a modern shower cubicle and hand basin with a large mirror.
There are electric heaters in all rooms.
Guests have their own private and floral outside area. Here you will find a stone barbecue with picnic tables and chairs. Guests do, however, have access to the main garden which is dominated by the two truly magnificent Beech trees and lots of floral displays.
There is free parking for at least one car in the garden area but free parking is also available in the large public car park 30 seconds away!
(To be honest you can park virtually anywhere for free!)
Bagnoles de l'Orne is famous for it's Spa and the healing powers of its water. People from all over France (and the world) visit the Spa. These people are known as 'Curistes' and spend 3 weeks at a time throughout the year enjoying its benefits.
Walk to the lake on a balmy evening and experience one of the absolutely delightful restaurants by the lake. Fantastic!
