A House For Two On Quiet Street In A Historic Town. This cottage/gite is in a village setting.

This little gem of a house has easy access to shops, restaurants, cafes, and a local weekly market plus a pleasant outlook and modern facilities.

The whole of the Perche countryside is on your doorstep whilst your daily baguette and the welcoming centre of Belleme is just a few hundred yards away.

There is a comfortable grey leather sofa and retro furnishings, with a king size double bed in bedroom 1 and a full size single bed in bedroom 2 (this room leads off bedroom 1 into the good sized shower room/wc).

We do not have a garden but the whole of Perche and the Belleme forest is on our doorstep !

Kitchen and dining

A new kitchen fitted in 2018, with induction hob, extractor and Bosch oven. Fridge and freezer, and enough cutlery, china, and coffee sets etc for 5/6 when you have visitors.

There is a small breakfast area, and a larger table for the living/dining room, if needed.

Living rooms

Comfort is essential, so there is a large grey leather sofa and retro chairs, with tv and dvd player and storage, while the pictures are on a Dylan Thomas theme.

Bedrooms

The main bedroom is a feature of the house with it's king size double bed and beautiful view over to the forest of Belleme across our neighbour's garden.

Bedroom 2 leads directly off bedroom 1 and into a good sized separate showeroom/wc.

There are polished wooden floors with cotton or wool rugs upstairs.

Electric thermostatically controlled radiators provide central heating upstairs and down. A new water heater supplies constant hot water.

Bathrooms

There is a good sized showeroom/wc with an efficient automatic fan system.

Heating

New electric central heating plus a manually set dehumidifier gives for extra comfort in cool winter and hot summer weather.

Entertainment

Belleme has its own picturesque open air swimming pool where some of our visitors have spent most of their holiday in hotter months. We keep a list of visitor attractions and weekly markets or Brocantes plus information about wildlife spotting.

Our visitors in the past have had the widest possible variety of interests from a lovely Australian family who used the area as a hopping off point to tour Europe to rural forest walkers and cyclists to our Le Mans enthusiasts attending racing or classic events.

Truly something for everyone.

Garden and outside

We do not have a back garden but Belleme has wonderful green and quiet spaces to watch the world go by.

There are marked parking spaces outside the house.

Visitor suitability

Please note that we have put pictures of the house's oak staircase in the photo section so you can judge its suitability. We are both over 70 and find it is fine for us but do look at the photos.

We have owned a house in this beautiful area of Normandy since 2005 and have always tried to provide our visitors with the level of comfort that we would like to find in a rental property ourselves, such as a ready source of advice to hand, and a high standard of comfort with a few personal touches. Here, ready for 2019, is our newly decorated cottage for 2 (or maybe 3). We are always pleased to answer any questions you have or to send more pictures of the locality so do give me a call anytime.

Why this location? Beautiful area, with so many activities to choose from.

Visit Belleme's Tourist Office in it's neat timber and glass chalet by the minigolf in town. We also keep lots of information in the house about local markets and outdoor activities such as the lovely open air pool open nearby from June to September.

Our first visitors in 2018 sent us a text on arrival "Its lovely!" so we hope this picturesque area will appeal just as much to you and that you enjoy exploring the ancient towns and villages in Perche and further afield - Le Mans is 45 minutes away with Paris a 55 minutes train ride from there. Chartres is an hour away, but if you just want entertainment locally our own choices are Mortagne, Nogent le Rotrou, and Mamers not to mention the wonderful cathedral at Sees.

Every holiday visitor has their own preference when it comes to making the most of their holiday - from walking, wildlife spotting to sightseeing, and cultural activities - Belleme offers a centre to visit a great many places of interest.

Some of our guests from Australia used the area as a base for touring Europe whilst others have enjoyed soaking up the sun and watching the world go by. You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to activities or to sampling the local cuisine.
