3 Bedroom Gite with Shared Pool & Gamesroom. This cottage/gite is in a village setting.

La Grange complex comprises a tastefully restored old Farmhouse and 3 gites on the edge of the quiet rural village of Villognon, just north of Angouleme. The Stable - 2 double bedrooms upstairs, one with bunk beds and 1 downstairs bedroom  (twin beds) en suite - wheelchair friendly   There is a large shared swimming pool and covered games area with a pool table and table tennis, a petanque court and bicycles.All Gites have TV and WiFi. An hours drive North lies the historic city of Poitiers with the renowned Futuroscope, an hours drive to the East is the city of Limoges and the gateway to the Dordogne with its numerous chateaux and grottos including Lascaux with its prehistoric cave paintings. A short drive South there is Angouleme with its impressive Ramparts protecting the historic centre. Angouleme has a golf course, ten pin bowling and an excellent water sports centre (Nautilus Centre). Further West lies Cognac, La Rochelle and Royan. Visit Fort Boyard and the River Charente with its excellent fishing and canoeing.

Although situated in a quiet village, it does have a friendly and welcoming bar/tabac and a small shop. There are supermarkets within a 10 minute drive. Close by there is canoeing, tennis, golf and horse riding.

The gites are very spacious and clean and the pool was lovely. The owners responded to any queries and difficulties that we had.

Unfortunately the Tabac shop does not appear to open at all in the village and there was no sign of any boulangerie delivery on any day so fresh bread required a daily drive into Mansle.

In order to attract more guests, this property would benefit greatly from Wifi and some form of satelite TV to attract younger families.
