The Owner Recommends

Great day out

Just north of Poitiers is the Futuroscope theme park. The site (131 acres) is packed full of animations, technology and multimedia experiences to provide an exciting day out for all the family.

Lovely local restaurant

The Patisson restaurant in St Savin provides excellent value for money and quality cooking. The set menu of the day is less than €12 per person including wine.

Market not to be missed

The Chauvigny market on Saturday mornings is not to be missed. It is a typical French market where you can find almost anything. Fruit and vegetables, bread, fish, macaroons, cheese, clothes, household items, plants and much more. Wander through at your leisure or sit in one of the nearby cafés and enjoy a coffee whilst people watching.

Our stay in the gite completly lived up to our expectations and we were really spoilt with the weather as well.

The property looked as it did in the pictures, in fact if anything the pictures did not do the size of the gite justice, it was big for a 3 bedroom. It was immactuately renovated with all mod cons and both Sue and Adrian were exemplorary hosts.

The pool was a real winner as was the location. It was close enough to Saint Savin to pop in to grab supplies as well located to see the local area...we could have gone to see more but with only staying for a week and the quality of the gite, meant we hung about at the property more.

We recommend Gite d'Artige throughly.

Beautiful gite and setting. Pool is fantastic. From the warm welcome through to departure the owners ensured a fantastic holiday and have set the bar very high others will struggle to match!! With outdoor furniture , loungers by the pool and everything you need to feel at home you can't do anything than kick back and relax. Will be coming back for sure!

As you can see from my scores I can't fault Gite d"artige at all

It's a beautiful, well equipped house set in rolling countryside but only about 2 miles from the nearest town.the property was only renovated over the winter of 15/16 so is essentially new inside.

It was immaculate inside and out and the large pool was great.

The owners Adrian and Sue are really lovely people. They live nearby and are available without being at all intrusive.

We will be back - that's the best recommendation anyone can give !

We had a lovely holiday in Gite D'Artige. It is a beautiful and spacious gite that is very well equipped, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The Gite is in the heart of the countryside and there is plenty of wildlife, yet 5 minutes from St. Savin which is a lovely town with supermarket, cashpoint, restaurants etc. There is plenty to do in the area, we enjoyed walking in Le Brenne national park, and the Geants Du Ciel birds of prey display in Chauvigny is very impressive. We hoped to go on the velo rail in Chauvigny but rain stopped play! We also visited Angle sur L'Anglin and had a lovely meal there. Thanks Sue & Adrian for being great hosts and looking after us during our stay.
