This wonderful property sits in the heart of the village of Aubeterre-sur- Dronne. All of the facilities and entertainment are within walking distance which is a huge bonus for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. Walk into this  property and you will experience the  magical features of a hidden gem.  The courtyard is secretly tucked away out of view from  the village street built into the rock. It towers over 4 floors and is nestled into the hillside.  From the roof terrace  there are breath taking views 360 degrees of fields, courtyard, cliffs, and the beautiful village and beyond. Lots of room in the house for everyone, ideal for families and friends giving everyone space with bathrooms on both sides of the property making it almost 2 houses in one. It has an acre of land where you can explore and even camp with yet another cave to discover. The village  property is located in one of the most beautiful villages in France.  There are 4 bedrooms on different  levels.  There is a kitchen with living area. There are 2 shower rooms with toilet and wash basin and another off the courtyard.  The garage is at the front of the property.

France never fails to impress me since first visiting the place in 1998. My family have enjoyed lots of holidays here and it is from our own experience that we decided to create this holiday home for people to enjoy.

Why this location? The Charente is without doubt a beautiful region in France which has a varied landscape appealing to all ages. The weather is also a major attraction because it has endless hours of sunshine equal to the Mediterranean climate. The landscape is gentle with its rolling hills and the light is clear, sharp and bright creating picture perfect views. It is always a pleasure to come back again and again!
Unique benefits of property It is in a central location in one of the most beautiful villages in France. The property is large so that it can accommodation two families or a large party of people. All of the rooms are extremely spacious and can be accessed on either side of the house giving separate entrances as well as being integral to the main house. It boasts the largest roof terrace giving a 360 degree view of the landscape in front of the property and the view of the hillside behind. This property is part built into the rock giving it some unique features such as a cave and a bathroom and kitchen showing the rock formation. It provides shade in the hot summer sun and offers a large sun terrace to enjoy the sunshine. It provides a unique experience of a Charente house in this popular holiday village with all amenities accessible on foot to shops, restaurants, river breach and is next to the ancient Monolithic church.

We loved Graham's Retreat. It was a lovely property with plenty of space and large rooms. Although the temperatures were approaching 100 degrees F outside, most of the house remained cool both day and night.
The sun terrace is a fantastic spot to sunbathe or relax during the evenings and has wonderful views of the countryside.
The village centre and the river beach was only 5 minutes walk so you can park your car and walk everywhere.
I cannot fault anything really and will be recommending this property to family and friends
