We enjoyed a wonderful week at la grange – the property is stunning & the several outside seating spaces meant that there was plenty of room for everyone to get together or to find a quiet spot.
Sky TV was a bonus for the kids as was the large pool which was used by all from morning to night.
We had a lovely holiday & really do hope to come back another summer!
Thank you Susan & graham.

Owner response

As a family, we have been renting Gites in France and Italy for many years and we are used to a high standard of accommodation and facilities. La Grange, however, really is a cut above. The converted barn is so good. The word quirky does not do it justice since that would suggest that it is a bit random which it most certainly is not! . Beautifully decorated, very comfortable and wonderfully laid out. The kitchen is so well equipped - the bedroons and beds are so comfortable and the seating areas, both inside and out, are just so splendid. The bigger than average pool is nothing short of fabulous - and deep! Even a covered gazebo beside the pool for relaxing out of the sunshine. So unusual for a property to actually be better than its advertisement!
Oh yes - and the hosts! So welcoming - so concerned with the enjoyment of their guests but never intrusive. Really - such brilliant people.Brian, Debbie, Lettie and Finn would all like very much to thank Graham and Susan for the great time we had! We all could not recommend this place enough.

Owner response

My wife and I had a relaxing two weeks break here during a hot spell in July. This location is quiet and peaceful with Restuarants and shops close by. Beautiful countryside surrounds La Grange which with its own swimming pool and well fitted accommodation was perfect for our needs. The accommodation is clean, well maintained and regularly serviced.
We would certainly return to this place and the area around it and would recommend it to those seeking a ge toe pace to their break. We drive down by car from Calais along the toll roads so although a long drive a stress free one.

Owner response

Many thanks for your review and we hope to see you here again sometime.
All our very best wishes
Susan & Graham.

First and foremost, the hosts Susan and Graham are very welcoming and look to make the stay as easy and pleasant as possible.
For us, this property was all about the outside space with an excellent pool and decked areas for sunbathing with which to while away the day in total relaxation, and numerous areas in which to eat, indeed we only used a few of them for which the Moroccan garden was by far the favourite.
The property has everything you need for a stay and is large and spacious, there were three of us in our group and we never felt crowded in any way.

There are a number of steps in the property which need to be respected especially while wearing sunglasses as it cuts down your natural vision but no incidents in our party, just merely an observation.
The property is opposite a church where they ring the bells twice a day, the evening ringing at 7 was not an issue however the morning ringing at 7 certainly started the day off!
Everything is a drive from the property be it supermarkets or restaurants but you soon get used to it and the roads are pretty much empty so no real issue but again an observation.
This really depends on what you are looking for in a Gite and if you want rural, peace and quite and off the beaten track this delivers.

All in all our party enjoyed the week and everything the Gite had to offer, would we go back, maybe, but that’s not a negative, just a reflection that personally we would have preferred to walk to local amenities.
