The gite is in a very rural area so is quiet. However, Nanteuil en Valley and Verteuil en Charente are close by and have a selection of restaurants and bars.
Ruffec is a good sized town with bars and restaurants.
Lizant (7km away) has a bar and fish and chip shop.
Champagne Mouton has a bar popular with British expats.
Nice sized garden which is up some stairs from the house. Eating area with umbrellas, sunloungers and an above ground pool.

Suitable for supervised children - the pool is not fenced.

We have always loved France, and with family living in the Charente, it made sense to buy a holiday home here. We are based in England but visit this lovely area regularly. We hope to move to France permanently within the next 2 years.

|Why this location?||Easy to get to from the UK. My sister and her partner live nearby. It is a peaceful part of France which we love. Plenty to do for families. Lovely weather. Good food.|
|Unique benefits of property||Peaceful rural location but within a few kilometres to local restaurants, bars and shops. Plenty to do in the area. We are on a cycle route if you like something a little more energetic. There are 2 bikes at the house. Well equipped house with English and French Freeview tv, wi-fi, dvd player and a selection of books. The house has 3 bedrooms: 2 double and 1 single with an extra good quality fold out bed if needed. One bathroom with shower and bath which is located downstairs. Three outside eating areas and a bbq. The house has an above ground pool which is welcome in the hot summer months.|

Lovely picnic area on the river at Condac. Free parking, children play area, canoe hire, small river beach with life guard duty in the summer at weekends, snack bar, restaurant, public toilets.
Based at Condac right on the river. Booking essential in the summer at lunchtime. Elegant with superb service and food.
Lovely chateau in the heart of Verteuil. Tour tickets available from the wine shop. Tour takes around 1.25 hrs and are usually in the afternoons.
This is a railway track where you cycle specially adapted trolleys along old railway tracks through the Vienne countryside. You can cycle various distances, return to Manot or through to Roumazieres and back.
The main terminus are in Confolens or Roumazieres. A different adventure if you are reasonably fit! Great fun for the family.
Each trolley takes up to 5 people - take a picnic and enjoy it at the stop in Manot.
