The gite is an old converted farmhouse, fully modernised and in a private setting. Guests have the exclusive use of the 12 metre pool, bbq, table tennis, children's swings, badminton area and enclosed courtyard. Pets welcome.
A welcome pack of basic food items, soft and alcoholic drinks awaits you on arrival.
All towels and linen are provided. There are children's games and dvds for those rare wet days.
This is a "get away from the rat race" kind of place, yet only a few minutes drive from the shops and a plentiful choice of restaurants.
Free wi-fi provided.
Our solid pine kitchen table seats 6. There's a dishwasher, washing machine, gas oven and hob, microwave, toaster, coffee-maker and fridge-freezer.
The kitchen is 2 steps down from the lounge area.
The lounge has 2 sofas and 2 chairs. The tv, dvd player and satellite box sit alongside a bookcase with novels and games for your amusement. Doors to the 2 downstairs bedrooms lead off the lounge, as do stairs to the double bedroom upstairs.
The lounge is double height with exposed structural beams and a brick/stone fireplace.
The front door leads into the lounge from the courtyard area, which faces south, and is a sun worshipper' paradise.
There are 2 lawns at either end of the pool to use, for boules maybe?
On the ground floor is one twin bedded room with bathroom adjoining, and one double bedded room with its own en suite.
On the first floor is another double bedded room with en suite.
The ground floor bathroom has a wc, bath with shower over and wash hand basin.
The gite is only open in the summer. Heating is not necessary.
The gite has satellite tv (Sky Freeview UK channels), a dvd player, MP3 sound system, radio, and a selection of films and books and games.
In the courtyard is a table to seat 6 people with chairs, a side table and bbq. Overhead is a retractable tonnelle, to provide shade.
On the paving area round the pool is a metal table and chairs for 4 people, with a parasol over. Also, there are 6 sunloungers and some folding chairs with cushions.
We have an all weather table tennis table, 2 children's swings and a badminton net (all balls and bats included).
There's parking for 3 cars within the gated entrance area.
The stairs leading to the first floor bedroom are quite steep, so would not suit anyone with mobility problems.
David and Ginny moved to France in 2011 from Elton, Cambridgeshire, UK. Ginny used to be an occupational therapist, David a management consultant. They live in the barn conversion adjoining the gite.

|Why this location?||The surrounding countryside is beautiful. Rolling hills stretch as far as the eye can see, and are mostly used to grow wheat, sunflowers and maize. There are as many tractors round here as cars (not many) and the night sky reveals thousands of stars. It's a perfect get away place, yet only a 10 minute drive from villages with several restaurants and shops.|
|Unique benefits of property||It's an old farmhouse with thick stone walls to keep you cool in summer and warm in winter. The 12 metre pool is for your exclusive use. It's garden is fully fenced and set back from the road.|
The town of St Emillion is at the centre of over 300 chateaux producing the red wines for which the Bordeaux region is world famous. It's a picturesque town with a wine museum and lots of places to eat, and is about 45 minutes drive from the gite.
