Chez Durandeau is sheer bliss for those in need of a little peace and tranquillity. The restorative power of the verdant country side and soothing splash of the swallows as they dance in and out of the beautiful pool is a balm for any weary soul.
With two teenagers just finished GCSE and A Levels respectively we were all in need of a proper break and we found it in Chez Durandeau.
A warm welcome greeted us from our lovely hosts Cath and Kevin who were there to help if we needed but otherwise allowed us to enjoy the delightful Chez Durandeau in peace perfect peace.

Spent 2 relaxing, sunny, splashy weeks Chez Durandeau. The gite is in a tranquil, private setting with great views. Fabulous pool, totally private, which is a huge plus. The owners were very helpful with information for away-days, getting in groceries for our arrival and regional information. We were impressed with the all-mod-cons kitchen and bathrooms, and the gite also has satellite English and French TV. I can highly recommend it for unwinding and recuperating from the daily grind back home!
In terms of amenities, the gite is situated in a rural French village which is beautiful, but of course like most small villages does not have the amenities of a town. There are local walks, a Church dating from 10th century and typical limestone architecture in the village. Nearby Aubeterre is a stunning little town with many restaurants for lunch and dinner. There are supermarkets, local shops and a weekly market in nearby Chalais, 10 minutes drive away, which also has a historic chateau and other places to visit. We found everything was as described, with pool and propery very clean and well maintained.

Had a fantastic holiday. The villa was so well equipt especially the kitchen.

All areas of the villa including the pool were spotlessly clean.

The owners who live next door were very helpfully and there if you needed them.

Could not recommend this villa enough.

It was great to have a large supermarket a few miles away.
