Our Recommendations

We are located off the N10 between Sauzé-Vaussais and Ruffec, both towns have excellent restaurants, supermarkets, boulangeries, and outdoor markets selling wonderful fresh produce.

In Londigny itself we have a wonderful family-run local bar and restaurant, called Auberge du Noyer, serving French and English dishes, and a bar menu if you fancy something less formal, and is certainly well worth a visit.

For the more adventurous, there is white water canoeing/rafting at either Ruffec (approx. 10 minutes) or Mansle (approx. 20 minutes) or why not take the children for a day out a Futuroscope in Poitiers (approx. 1 hour) – a different kind of leisure park experience for all the family!

Visit the Atlantic Coast with its truly wonderful beaches - treat yourselves to a visit to one of the many quayside restaurants or cafés at the beautiful port of La Rochelle or Royan.

Angoulemé with its striking architecture, world famous annual comic strip festival, car race and its many shops and restaurants is only 30 minutes away.

Alternatively stay at home and plan your al fresco lunch or evening bbq, take a dip in the pool, participate in many of the outdoor garden games on offer or just relax with a glass of wine!

Spent a week here mid October. Flew in Southampton to Limoges which was really convenient.
The gite was lovely and had everything we needed. Very clean, comfortable and good nights sleep. It's a rural location so very peaceful with spectacular views across the fields and woods, a castle in the distance and great for bird spotting. Very nice mature garden with fruit trees, loved the huge Walnut tree for shade. It was great for relaxing with a glass of wine and a pair of binoculars. The pool has a fence so very safe. The hosts couldn't have been more helpful and friendly, they recommended a good restaurant 5minutes away and Ruffec is a short drive away with everything we needed. Lots of really beautiful Charente villages nearby and La Rochelle and the sea about an hour and a half away. Will be going back here in the summer.

A wonderful, clean, large family home set in a peaceful location with stunning country views.

The hosts were on hand and were exceptionally helpful and friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. We were provided with lots of information on the area, things to do, places to go and we were also given a welcome pack full of goodies to start off our holiday.
It’s a very well-equipped house with all mod-cons and nice large rooms, with comfortable beds, sofas, and a large TV with Netflix.

The outside area was amazing. The pool was great, and lovely to use when it got hot, plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas, along with outside tables and chairs around the large courtyard area. We used the large gas BBQ quite a lot during our stay and had fun with the outdoor games and table tennis table.

We had a great relaxing week, would happily come back again and think this place is perfect for families, and couples alike.

Owner response

Thank you for your kind words, it was a pleasure looking after you both and we hope to see you again next year.

Holiday Review

I stayed at the villa for a week from September 8th – 14th with a friend, my daughter, her husband, my granddaughter and their Westie called Pablo. It was a family trip with the aim of relaxation! The property is family owned. They provided us with very helpful information and a welcome basket with the essentials like milk, bread and wine of course! It was a lovely personal touch that made us feel very welcome. The Villa is perfectly secluded surrounded by woods and farmland. It was peaceful and the Villa is charming with lots of character. It was very clean and well maintained. It’s spacious and well equipped with comfortable beds, TV, Netflix and Wi-Fi and a good size kitchen.

The pool and the garden were great with plenty of sun loungers and shade for when the weather got a bit too hot! Pablo had plenty of space to run around and lots of places to go for walks amidst the sunflower fields. The chirping sound of the birds was a lovely way to wake up in the morning. We made the most of the location with lots of walks, pool days and barbecues outdoors in the warm evenings. We also had a car and went for a day trip to La Rochelle, it was a fantastic place to visit with lots of history and great restaurants and bars.

I would highly recommend a visit to the Villa! It was an amazing experience and perhaps one of the best holidays we have ever had as a family. We will definitely stay there again.
