Chez Baillargeon is set in a stunning secluded location and is a beautifully renovated character 3 bed detached home (sleeps up to 6 people) and separate 1 bed gite - Bellefleur (sleeps 2-3 people) with fully heated pool, set in private gardens of nearly an acre, amidst the rolling countryside of the Charente region of France.
We are located off the N10 between Sauzé-Vaussais and Ruffec, both towns a few minutes drive and both have many excellent restaurants, supermarkets, boulangerie’s, and outdoor markets selling wonderful fresh produce.
Offering total comfort and relaxation, our home is furnished, equipped and modernised to a high standard, yet still retains its original character and charm. Situated at the end of a no through lane in the rural hamlet of Londigny near Ruffec, we offer the perfect setting in which to just relax and unwind.
We are English owners, who currently live in the UK, with local contacts, so there is always someone nearby if anything needed.
Bed linen and towels (inside use only) provided.
Access to Wi-Fi.
We do not allow smoking inside either the house or the gite.
Please note the pictures that show the current furniture of the main house belong to the previous owner. All our furniture will be new, and once delivered new pictures will be taken and added to the site (from June 2018). This will include new beds and luxury mattresses, new sofas and furniture throughout the house.
**For larger families/friends/teenagers and their friends, our gite just across the courtyard (Bellefleur - accommodates an extra 2-3 people) can be booked with the main home from September 2018 onwards . Please contact directly for pricing and to book.**
Large, bright, and spacious kitchen and dining room (snug) in the main house with a six seater and four seater table and chairs, and a good size kitchen and dining area, in the separate gite.
Both fully-equipped, the main house has an induction hob and oven and the gite an electric two ring hob. Full use of new, good quality, Nespresso coffee-machines, kettles, microwaves, fridge-freezers, toasters, crockery, saucepans, cutlery etc.
The main house also has a dishwasher in the kitchen and a washing machine in the utility room if needed.
There are 2 living rooms in the house, one just off the kitchen which we like to call the snug, both with large comfortable sofas, and a modern Smart HD TV in the main living room. Both rooms have large frenchdoors leading out to the patios and the courtyard area.
There is also use of a computer desk in the snug, if anyone needs to do some work from their laptop whilst away.
The gite has a good size comfortable seating area to relax and unwind.

Second bedroom: king-size bed, bedside tables, chest of drawers and wardrobe - all new.
Third bedroom - double bed, storage.
First floor mezzanine level: 1 double bed and 1 single bed, bedside tables, chest of drawers and wardrobe.
*There is a beam in the main bedroom, which if you are over 5ft 9 you will need to be mindful of when entering. Once in the actual bedroom you can access the bed/ensuite facilities etc. easily.
The house has a bathroom with, toilet, bath and separate shower, and an en suite shower room with toilet in the main bedroom. There is also a downstairs toilet next to the utility room.
The gite has a large shower room with toilet on the ground floor.
The main house has radiators in all rooms, and a lovely log burner in the living room and in the snug. Whilst probably not needed in the summer, they are both nice features, and of course can be used if visiting in the Spring or Autumn.
If needed, the gite has 2 thermostatic oil-filled radiators.

We are located off the N10 between Sauzé-Vaussais and Ruffec, both towns have excellent restaurants, supermarkets, boulangeries, and outdoor markets selling wonderful fresh produce.
In Londigny itself we have a wonderful family-run local bar and restaurant, called Auberge du Noyer, serving French and English dishes, and a bar menu if you fancy something less formal, and is certainly well worth a visit.
For the more adventurous, there is white water canoeing/rafting at either Ruffec (approx. 10 minutes) or Mansle (approx. 20 minutes) or why not take the children for a day out a Futuroscope in Poitiers (approx. 1 hour) – a different kind of leisure park experience for all the family!
Visit the Atlantic Coast with its truly wonderful beaches - treat yourselves to a visit to one of the many quayside restaurants or cafés at the beautiful port of La Rochelle or Royan.
Angoulemé with its striking architecture, world famous annual comic strip festival, car race and its many shops and restaurants is only 30 minutes away.
Alternatively stay at home and plan your al fresco lunch or evening bbq, take a dip in the pool, participate in many of the outdoor garden games on offer or just relax with a glass of wine!
