Long sunny days, fabulous food and the French family lifestyle tempted us to begin our adventure in France, running La Grue Gites. Welcome!<br/>Having young children, we found self-catering gite holidays with a heated pool bliss. There's something for everyone here at La Grue Gites and the grown-ups get to relax too while the children play in our garden area. We have 3 gites sleeping up to 12 in total. We're ideally situated being close to 3 airports and the TGV is only 40 mins away too!

Swift, friendly service in a convivial, French atmosphere. Reasonably priced home-cooked food with exceptionally good pizzas to eat in or take away.
13km away from us in Tusson, is this little gem of a restaurant. Ideal as a special treat for a romantic meal out - fabulous entrecote steak.
Should you wish to buy some Cognac, our friendly neighbours in Mons (Laval-Aubinaud) make their own Cognac and Pineau. The family will welcome you and encourage you to taste their Pineau (red and white) and their range of Cognacs.
Impressive and beautiful Chateau to explore nearby.
We recommend Bike Hire Direct or Dispovelo who will deliver bikes to your gite, here. The lanes are generally quiet with good visibility and pretty flat. Aigre has the French cycling route 33 with three different circuits and levels of difficulty to explore.
There's a viewing point near to Mons too.
Just down the road is the best boulangerie I've discovered. Amazing pattiserie and fabulous 'Framboise' croissants.
I thought this was a really lovely & very special place to stay. The owners were very helpful, kind & wanted me to enjoy my break. Actually, I loved it here & would have liked to have stayed much longer as there was much more to explore in the surrounding area but, I will definitely be returning as it all has a particular charm about it.
I received a really warm welcome from the owners who showed me around my clean, beautifully decorated & very well equipped gite. They advised about what there was to do in the area & made sure that I had enough for breakfast - the best croissants I have ever tasted!
It was a really pretty stone built place set in lovely surroundings with plant pots & a fragrant raised flower bed in a private courtyard that had its own BBQ facilities. There was a large swimming pool in pleasant gardens with sun loungers & a trellised shaded area.
Inside it was very spacious with comfortable & modern furniture that was in keeping. The kitchen was impressive & very clean, having everything I needed & more.
The bedroom was lovely too. It was quaint in a modern sort of way with a very comfortable mattress & nice bedding. The shower room was very clean & more than ample in size.
I explored the local villages & small towns by bicycle & bought my groceries in gorgeous little shops & had coffees in lovely cafes. I went by car to some delightful towns & explored parks, shops & museums.
This was money very well spent, I'd say!
