Sunrise cottage is the first of our 2 gites that you come to. Through the front door you step into the lounge, with dining area at the far end leading through into the kitchen and shower room. Upstairs is a double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a single bedroom.
The nearby village of Vertetuil sur Charente is only a couple of km away with a good selection of shops, restaurants, tea rooms and bars plus the possibility of a little tour around the chateau during the summer.
The kitchen is well equipped with a cooker, microwave, toaster, washing machine, kettle, fridge and freezer. All the crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils that you should need are available.
In the lounge you have a flat screen tv showing all French and English free to view channels, dvd player with a selection of dvds, stereo system and a collection of books. There is also unlimited wi-fi connection and games are available to borrow.
Upstairs there is a master bedroom with double bed, a second bedroom with 2 singles and a third with one single bed.
There is a downstairs shower room fitted with a shower cabin, basin and toilet.
Main heating supplied via a wood burner. All bedrooms and the bathroom have electric heaters

Immediately outside, the cottage has 2 terraces, one to the side and the other at the front, making the most of the sun or shade, if you prefer, throughout the day. Have your breakfast, of freshly baked croissants from the village boulanger ie, in the morning sun and enjoy an aperitif and a bbq in the evening looking out over the garden to the fields beyond.
20 meters away make use of the large 10 x 5 metre pool.
We have table tennis, snooker and a boule court.
Ample parking is supplied for several vehicles

Rental of canoes available from the nearby town of Ruffec (5kms) or further afield in Mansle (15kms)
Theme park of the moving image, a whole day and evening is needed to make the most of this. Only an hour away at Poitiers.

Visit the historic port of La Rochelle, only 1.5hrs away. Have a romantic stroll and a plat du jour around the harbor and maybe visit the various museums or the large aquarium.
Visit Cognac, perhaps do some tasting tours of the distilleries or a riverboat tour.
A historic town famous for its Comic Strip Festival and Circuit des Remparts car race in September. Many buildings are adorned with murals, follow the trail to see them all. Enjoy a lovely evening in the old quarter of historic Angouleme where you will find a wide selection of restaurants, bars and music events.
