My husband and I own the property in Aubeterre sur Dronne. We are now a family of 4 with two little people aged nine months and just over two. When I’m not on maternity leave I work at Deloitte in consulting as does my husband (where we met). We live in London and enjoy Aubeterre with family and friends when we can. We love it when others get to enjoy the relaxed pace of life in Aubeterre. This is why we choose to let the property a little, especially during the Spring and Summer months.

|Why this location?||Aubeterre sur Dronne is officially one of the prettiest villages in France. It is a beautiful village with a fantastic square, great restaurants, and an authentic Sunday market. Aubeterre is well located for both Bordeaux and Bergerac airports, which for us was a big plus when we were looking to buy a holiday house in France. Aubeterre is set on the banks of the river Dronne and has a wonderful river beach very near the property as well as kayaking which is great fun - especially if it’s followed by a picnic. Of course, it is also extremely well located for tours of the Bordeaux and Bergerac wine regions, alongside fantastic market towns such as Perigueux. The house has such a fantastic garden and pool that we often spend time simply relaxing with a drink or maybe an ice cream from the local ice cream seller in the village. It is family and couples friendly and has a well stocked local shop for key supplies, whilst Chalais nearby has bigger supermarkets and another great market.|
|Unique benefits of property||The pool is the largest in Aubeterre and has a fantastic view looking up towards the centre of the village. The house has a wonderful terrace with views onto woodland that line the banks of the river Dronne, as well as further views of Aubeterre. The house is great for family/friend get togethers as it sleeps 14 people. It is spacious and tastefully decorated to provide a homely and typically French feel. It is both relaxing and charming - all key reasons to come and stay.|
Fantastic crepes and galettes. Located in the village serving both lunchtime and evening meals.
Wonderful a la carte food. Must book in advance as it gets busy. Fabrice and his wife Rachel are extremely friendly.
The iconic hotel in the square that holds a happy hour on a Friday between 7pm and 8pm.
Great local town with a wonderful Monday market and large supermarket and farm shop.
Fantastic Saturday market. A pretty town with lots to see - well worth a day trip.
A pretty town about 45mins drive from the house. A good day trip.
Well worth a visit to the centre of Bordeaux itself. Great shopping, restaurants and sites to see.
A very pretty town. Another day trip. Picinic on the river banks or take a boat tour along the river. Good shopping and restaurants also!
The heart of right-bank Bordeaux wine - tasting galore in a beautiful town with pedestrian streets, churches, outdoor cafes and gourmet restaurants
