Welcome to Manoir Beaulieu. A stunning French Manor house situated in the quaint village of Salles-Lavalette, South West France.

At Manoir Beaulieu you’ll find the perfect balance of Parisian chic interiors and as many 18th century features we can preserve (wait until you see our wooden floors!). Along with your own private and expansive pool, private adjoining barn (including playstation 4, 200 inch home cinema for films or gaming and table tennis) and ample secret gardens to explore.

So whether it's a family holiday, friends retreat or special occasion - come and stay with us!

We also offer additional extras such as: first night bbqs, French breakfasts, lakeside picnics or mid-week bedding changes at an additional charge. Please enquire when booking.

Kitchen and dining

Manoir Beaulieu has a quaint, fully-equipped French style kitchen. Including a ground coffee-machine, fridge-freezer and ample cooking equipment for gastronomic dining! Along with cake making equipment for those lazy baking days. There is an outside dining terrace, perfect for soaking in the last of the days sun, and an indoor banqueting table for hosting your own dinner parties. Not forgetting the honesty bar, filled with homemade liquors (season dependant!)

We also offer the option to hire additional cutlery, glassware and crockery for up to 50 people - so you can throw your own French soiree. Please enquire when booking and we'd be happy to discuss the best options for you.

Living rooms

A large cosy lounge, complete with 3 large sofas and extra chairs for those lazy evenings in front of the tv. Both French and English tv channels are available and there's even a skittles table tucked away in the corner of the room for the competitive types!

You'll find an adjoining library to the lounge, with another cosy sofa and ample cooking, fiction, non-fiction and even design books for reading - a great spot for the peace and quiet seekers!

Bedrooms

We have 5 large bedrooms, all with adaptable layouts. Within the bedrooms there are: 2 super kings, 2 kings, 1 double bed and provide the option to add up to x4 single beds in the 2 biggest rooms accommodating for up to 14.

We're extremely family friendly, we don't charge extra for cots or highchairs so please let us know how many you need when booking and we will accommodate. We'll even throw in a few toys giving you extra room in the suitcase!

All bath, hair, face and pool towels are provided - along with crisp, white, 400 thread count Egyptian cotton bedding for that extra luxurious feel.

Bathrooms

There are 2 family bathrooms within Manoir Beaulieu, and 1 en suite. The downstairs bathroom includes a shower cubicle and laundry facilities. The upstairs bathroom has a shower over a full sized bath, as does the en suite.

They've all been newly updated to offer a touch of luxury for our guests. Soft and fluffy bath, hair, face and hand towels are also provided as standard - as well as stripy pool towels - giving guests more room in their suitcase!

Heating

Manoir Beaulieu has central heating throughout, and all rooms including bathrooms have radiators. During the warmer summer months all bedrooms and main living areas are provided with fans as standard.

Entertainment

There is plenty to keep all ages busy at Manoir Beaulieu - all year round. The large Mirabelle plum tree offers sweet plums over the summer, along with hazelnut trees that line the pool, all ripe for picking (and eating!)

The adjoining barn includes a playstation 4 and 200 inch home cinema for film or gaming. As well as a table tennis table, boules and boardgames. The expansive pool includes sunloungers and deck chairs, perfect for lounging round all day (open May to September).

The village restaurant and bar is a 5 minute walk away, offering a delicious range of local sourced French cuisine and drinks as well as there being other eateries all within a 10 minute drive. There are also plentiful walking a cycling routes right on your doorstep!




















































Garden and outside

Guests have private access to the expansive pool (open May to September) and the covered barn - decked out with table tennis, darts & other indoor games, along with a playstation 4 and home cinema - for those seeking the shade. There are secret gardens, fruit and nut trees scattered around Manoir Beaulieu waiting to be explored (and picked!).

Parking and garages

There is ample parking space in front of Manoir Beaulieu, up the winding drive and behind a lockable gate. We'd highly recommend hiring a car during your visit to properly explore the surrounding areas.

Manoir Beaulieu is suitable for all age types. A pool alarm is fitted and active all year round for the safety of younger children. There are stairs up to the 5 bedrooms and stairs outside, down to the pool.

Bonjour! We're a young family of three (Lauren, James and Oscar) who have recently moved to France. We've been working hard to lovingly bring this old French Manor House back to its once grand stature. On days off, we love to venture to nearby lakes, beaches and eateries - exploring all the best local landmarks for our guests!

Why this location? We immediately fell head of heals in love with Salles-Lavalette. This quaint French village oozes history and has the best boulangerie around for miles - perfect for a traditional, French petit dejeuner. It's a 5 minute walk from Manoir Beaulieu into the village which also hosts a French restaurant and bar open all year round. There's a beautiful 15th century church at it's heart and ample walking and cycling routes right on the doorstep - offering the most peaceful and tranquil holiday location.

Aubeterre sur Drone

15 minutes from Manoir Beaulieu and conveniently situated on the border of the South Charente and the Dordogne, Aubeterre sur Dronne boasts an exceptional cultural heritage which, combined with its beautiful natural surroundings and the famous French “art de vivre”, makes it a place not to be missed.

Aubeterre sur Dronne has been officially listed as one of 'The Most Beautiful Villages in France' since 1993, and includes important historical monuments such as; the extraordinary, monolithic, underground Church of St Jean and the Romanesque Church of St Jacques, with its stunning façade.

You can enjoy meandering through the ups and downs of the narrow streets, popping in to admire the many specialist shops, including a leather worker and potters, and then settling down in the village square, Place Tarried for a delicious menu du jour.

Poltrot activity centre

15 minutes away from Manoir Beaulieu is Poltrot. Once a water mill, this free to visit hidden gem sits on the banks of the river Dronne and around the mill of Poltrot. You can spend a day here swimming in the river, climbing high on the tree-top 'go-ape' style adventures, or getting lost in the maze. It also has an outiside restuarant on the banks of the river, open all day and moules frites Fridays! Not to be missed.

Etang de la Jamaye

A 30 minute drive away from Manoir Beaulieu you'll find the beach river of Jamaye. A quiet, undiscovered spot perfect for a dip or to laze around reading a book. There's a children's play area nestled in the shaded trees, and three restaurants sitting on the beach to choose from. A perfect location to take a picnic and spend the day.
