The cottage is located in the quiet village of Chaban on the edge of the Venise Verte ('Green Venice'), a much warmer version of the Norfolk Broads, which can be explored by punt or via miles of cycle track. Our nearest town is Mauze-sur-le-Minion 4klm away has supermarket, bakers, butchers, banks chemists etc It also has a swimming pool and tennis courts.
Downstairs comprises of an open plan living and dining room and fully-fitted kitchen.
There is an open tread staircase to the upper floor and the 2 bedrooms.

The Donjon de Niort is a fine historic castle and there is also the impressive Hotel de Ville. There are parks to stroll around and a good golf course. There are also good bistros and restaurants.
Chez Dominique at Usseau is open lunchtime, evenings at weekends. La Ferme Flamande. En route to Sugeres with good food and child friendly. La Gourmondise D'Arcaise has particularly good food. La Roma in Sugeres Italian with a French twist. La Table A&S also in Sugeres good food, owned by young French couple, also a salon de Thé
Sugeres is 9km away and has 3 supermarkets including a large L'Eclerc and a full range of small shops and a good selection of restaurants. Wnjoy a stroll around the chateau and church with walled gardens. Markets twice a week. There is a main line station offering TGV train travel to Paris in 2.5 hours.
