The nearest town where a small but lively market is held every Thursday and Sunday morning. The town provides all your basic requirements; supermarket, banks, cash machines, restaurants and bars and a chemist. The Tourist Information Office opposite the 12th Century church will provide you with all the additional help you may need for the area.
Your nearest village is a short drive away from your cottage and has the advantage of a village shop with Post Office and a bar/restaurant for reasonably priced meals with local wines. There is a 10th century Renaissance chateau with the River Boutonne running through it. On the outskirts of the village is a Donkey Sanctuary.
An interesting market town with markets twice a week, supermarkets, banks, chemist, restaurants and shops. The town also has a modern indoor swimming complex with the river nearby and a huge boating lake set in a lovely park with cafes, crazy golf and children's play area.
