What a stunning setting, well maintained indoors & out. A very relaxing, and beautiful location, close to local amenities, or a short drive for more amenities and attractions. Great hosts ensuring that everything is right for your stay. I would definitely recommend this to anyone, and stay there again.
Thanks to all and we're glad that you enjoyed your stay. Hope to see you out here again some day.
We have just returned from a lovely family holiday having enjoyed a great week in this lovely accommodation. Pat and Evelyn are great hosts and nothing is too much trouble. The accommodation offers everything a family could need.
The local village is peaceful and a great location to enjoy a lazy afternoon, there is a local supermarket 2 minutes away for all your essentials. Within a hours ride you have a varied list of atttractions giving the family plenty of choice for a great day out.
We will definitely be back, thanks for a great week really enjoyed our stay.
We would like to thank Pat & Evelyn for a great stay, they are the perfect hosts, local, contactable & discreet. The pool is large secluded, with views over open fields & maintained to a very high standard, the garden is well equipped with furniture & BBQ, secluded providing areas of sun & shade throughout the heat of the day. The Gite is large full of character & homely, it is very well equipped with good quality fixtures & fittings, NOT just the usual minimum quantity of cups/glasses etc...the location is perfect for a relaxing holiday, down a small secluded lane but with the village with markets twice a week a 10 minute walk & St Jean D'Angeley 20 minutes by car away . The photos do not do this property justice, highly recommend
we hope to return
Thanks for the great review and we too hope to see you here another time.
We have recently spent two weeks at La Lavende and had a fab time. The house is lovely, with more than enough room for two families of four. It was clean and well-equipped with everything you would require for a self-catering holiday and was very much a home from home. The garden was plenty big enough for our games of rounders, football and bat and ball and of course the pool was the shining star; even though it is not heated our children still got in it every day, it really made no difference! Locally, the town of Aulnay is a 10 minute stroll away and has a local market on a Sunday, there are a few bakeries and a a couple of bars. The Inter Marche was a few minutes drive away. We ventured further afield to La Rochelle, Royan, and Poitiers, all about an hours drive but definitely worth it. We also went to St Jean D'Angely which is about 30 minutes away and has a leisure park with pedalos, mini golf, kayaks, fishing, and a lovely café too. I should also mention Pat and Evelyn, the owners of La Lavande who were very helpful, with suggestions on places to visit and eat and they exchanged the bedding half way through our holiday. Pat came to the pool every couple of days to clean the pool but was very discreet, sometimes we didn't realise he'd been until we heard his motorbike starting up! Evelyn kindly gave us some very tasty home grown tomatoes which went down a treat! Thank you to Pat and Evelyn for allowing us to stay at La Lavande.
Thank you guys for such a nice review. We do try and it's nice when it is appreciated.
