Reviews:
We have just returned from a week-end winter break at the Chateau. We did so enjoy it, particularly the big old farmhouse kitchen and log fire. The drive was a bit further than expected (5 hours from St Malo) but it was still worth it and most enjoyable. Thank you to the staff.

We use one cottage also the chateau. We like very much. There is a lot of charactRr and interest and the weather was very good.We use the pool every day.Close by to beach and place of interest.Comfort in the beds and kitchen, all very good. - 4 stars

We booked a week's stay at the end of September 2016, with 13 of us staying at the Chateau! It is the most beautiful 'house', set in amazing grounds and has everything you could possibly need for a happy holiday.Plenty of utensils, cutlery, crockery, bedding, chairs, etc and a fantastic pool/barbecue area.Christine is on site to sort out any small problems/offer advice/help with ordering taxis, etc and nothing was too much trouble for her.We had a wonderful time here and would have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

Good afternoon Bruce and Catharine. Just to say that we very much enjoyed our stay with you in your lovely property. Both the Chateau and the cottages met our requirements to the full, and we all particularly liked the grounds and the pool areas. It was great to run in to the Charltons again this year - what a coincidence! We have now exchanged e-mails so that we can team up for next year .... if you'll have us again ? One small thing - it would be brilliant if you had a babysitter who could speak English. I do understand that in France people tend to speak French, but an English-speaking babysitter would have been just perfect. I love you "museum" in the Chateau - that kept us occupied for hours on the two rainy days we had. So thanks again and we'll keep in touch.

Thank you for receiving me at Rochebonne last week. The work you have accomplished and the good taste you have invested makes the property unrecognisable from the sad ruin I once saw. My assistant, Madame Delguel, was particularly smitten with the decor, and the furniture. I see the property now features in a couple of books. My warmest congratulations on your accomplishment.

Stayed at Chateau Rochebonne for 2 weeks, 9 of us from 3 years to 68. What a great property, spacious inside and out, super pool area, 2 outside dining areas, good barbeque set up, sandy play area for the younger children complete with toys. The chateau is within its own walled garden and so totally secure in that respect. Lots of grass area to kick a ball about or whatever takes your fancy. The property is furnished in the style and has many many items of interest around to keep you interested every time you go from room to room. The pictures don't really do the place justice as it just has a wealth of character, history and has been renovated with a great deal of time, effort and obvious dedication. Would we go back, yes of course we would, would we recommend it, sure, if you are looking for a holiday that is just a little different from your usual run of the mill villa or gite, look no further. It's just a fantastic place with owners sympathetic and easy to deal with.

Owner response
