We have just enjoyed a great week at Le Jardin du Chene Vert. The only difficulty was trying to entice our two boys away from the pool to visit some of the many attractions in the area. The owners Richard and Anne are very friendly and couldn't be more helpful, the gite is very well equipped and decorated and was spotlessly clean. The village of Les Eduts is sleepy with lovely walks to be had in and around it and good access to the shops at Nere and Aulnay.
In addition to the pool there is table tennis, boules, badminton...loads of things to do.
In short we cannot recommend a stay here highly enough - 10 out of 10!!
Lovely Gite, excellent swiming pool and great hosts.
We recently had a fantastic holiday at this property. It's very rural location is perfect if you want peace and quiet, a real 'away from it all holiday. The gite was superb, spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The outdoor area was perfect. An undercover area which provided shade when eating. The pool is probably the best we've ever come across - it was large enough for us to play all sorts of games, and was kept immaculately clean. Our two teenage children absolutely loved it! The weather during our holiday was perfect, with stunning views of the sunset each evening from the pool. At the same time the swallows were swooping down to take a drink from the pool. A beautiful end to the day.
The owners of the property were great hosts - they made us extremely welcome and were always helpful, yet left us to ourselves and gave us our privacy at all times.
This gite is situated in a beautiful part of France, with massive fields of sunflowers all around. We enjoyed wandering around the local towns and driving around the nearby villages.
We went to the coast one day - but a word of warning - check the tide timetable before you go. We didn't do this and the tide was out half a mile!!!
It was a really wonderful holiday and we were so very lucky to stay in this fantastic property . We cannot recommend it highly enough. We certainly hope to return.
Le Jardin du Chene Vert is a lovely property in a delightful setting. It was excellently maintained, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The owners, David and Anne, were extremely helpful, providing us with all we required for our holiday. They welcomed us with drinks, in addition to a 'welcome tray' of wine and cake, even though we arrived much later than we had originally intended. Their information about the local area enabled us to visit some places we hadn't thought of and thoroughly enjoyed - for example Saintes, with it's Roman Amphitheatre. St-Jean d'Angely is also a delightful little town. There are some good walks to be enjoyed locally too. Our teenage sons very much enjoyed the pool. I would love to visit again and would definitely recommend this gite.
