Chez Maurice is a fabulous newly renovated and converted typically Charentaise stone cottage, that sleeps up to 12 people.
The property is full of charm and traditional features and is set in the heart of the countryside.
It has a large very private swimming pool, and pretty gardens with stunning views across fields of vines, sunflowers and corn.
The private swimming pool, which is flooded with sunlight all day is to the rear of the property and is set in rolling open gardens, and is fully alarmed. It has a large terrace area to the side and is a great sun trap with a mixture of sunloungers and seating. It is exclusively for clients renting this property and is approx 10 x 5metres, with shallow long steps for the young ones, and is approx 220m deep at the deepest. It is totally private, not overlooked by anyone, and looks out onto the beautiful`rolling countryside surrounding the property. The pool is fully alarmed and the garden is walled and gated to restricted access to the pool by very young children.
There is an games barn with a full size ping pong table, a pool table, a baby football table Air hockey, and baby foot, there is also a fitness area, the front park area is 6000m2 for playing all sorts of sports, or just letting off steam.
The kitchen features old beams and exposed stonework, and a large fire place with a wood burner.
The well equipped kitchen is a handmade cherry wood kitchen with a large 8 burner range cooker with 3 ovens, dishwasher, and a large freezer and large fridge.
There is a large farmhouse table that seats 12 for family meals and spending time together.
To the right of the hallway is the door to the large spacious lounge with open fireplace and again exposed stonework and beams. There are three comfy sofas a book case of a variety of books and a side board with games. There is a dvd player and tv with UK Freeview.

Off of the lounge is a are 2 steps to a 3 bed bedroom one of the beds is an lovely old French bed (all with new mattress) with a wardrobe and chest of draws.
Upstairs, there are a further 4 bedrooms. The first is the master double which is a lovely very large double bedroom, tastefully furnished and a lovely sunny outlook with plenty of room for a cot also if need be. It has an en suite with a large shower, loo and wash basin.
There is also a second double en suite and a second triple and a twin.
All the rooms are spacious and light with wardrobes and cupboards.
A large family bathroom is on the ground floor with bath.
Two of the bedrooms have en suite bathrooms upstairs .
There is a further family bathroom upstairs with shower.
Heating is from a woodburner in the kitchen but is not normally required.
There is a very large games barn with a fitness area.
In the games barn is snooker baby foot table tennis and a air hockey table.
On the approach to the property is a park area with football nets.
To the outside there is a large walled garden to the front and side of the property with a large patio area and stunning views to the side and rear of the property across the vineyards and fields with a view for mile. This whole area is walled and gated for the privacy and security for the little ones! There is a bbq on the patio also for those 'al fresco' evenings.

|Why this location?||We came here on holiday with our children and enjoyed the area so much we stayed, it has beautiful beaches sunflower fields lots of sunshine and lovely people. Whats not to like?|
|Unique benefits of property||We have kept all the old features of an old Charentaise house but with all the modern conveniences, you have your own private pool with some truly lovely view and there is a fab gamesbarn with a fitness area too.
It is peaceful teeming with wildlife and we have the most wonderfull star filled skys at night, magical!
The nearest cafes, bars and restaurants are to be found in the next villages of Néré, which is about 2 miles away. Other nearby towns are Matha (15mins), Aulnay (15 mins), Cognac (30mins), Angoulême (45mins) and La Rochelle (1hr). Seaside towns - the west coast of France is famous for its mediterranean climate, long sandy beaches, glorious islands and stunning coastlines, from La Rochelle and Rochefort (50mins away) down to Talmont (the village of flowers) approximately 1 hour away. There is a lovely lake, Le Gours, approx 5mins drive, perfect for a picnic, in which you can fish and it has a designated area for swimming. Thought the summer they open a small refreshment area offering food and drinks. The forest of Fontaine Chalendray and Aulnay are 5min drive away - an ideal place to ride and walk. Bikes are available to hire, delivered to your door. The Charente Maritime region is famous for its beautiful scenery and stunning countryside. Local towns Cognac - Famous for its drink, has tours of the cognac houses, boat trips, festivals, markets, lovely shops, many bars and restaurants to relax and enjoy superb cuisine and fine wines. Saintes - Another lovely town set on the banks of the Charentaise River with a real French feel, boat hire, street markets, shops and lots of restaurants, festival and lots more - well worth a visit. La Rochelle - A fantastic seaside city, boasting night markets, street entertaintment, a huge choice of restaurants and attractions, in this lovely old historic port. There are numerous markets and brocants local to the area, taking place throughout the year. Cognac, St Jean d'Angely, Ruffec, Aigre, Mansle, Jarnac, Chatelaillon, Pons, Saintes, Pont l'Abbe, and our nearest town Aulnay. There are many many attractions to see and visit in the area, and we provide all the information you could need to suit all tastes and ages .
