After busy careers in the NHS and National Grid, having spent 12 years holidaying throughout France, we fell in love with La Rose des Vents, on a rainy day in October. It was just the type of place we would have loved to stay on holiday. Our adventure has included renovating this beautiful former Cognac domaine, welcoming guests from all over the world, learning french, sampling great restaurants and exploring this beautiful region in our Morgan sports cars our other great love.

Rose cottage is very spacious and manages to combine practicality with superb comfort. The beds are lovely with good quality mattresses and bedding and there is plenty of storage for your clothes.
The large kitchen diner has all the facilities you could wish for. The cottage is set in a pretty little garden with roses along the front and a large wooden table with seating room for at least eight people plus a shaded area outside the salon door with another little table and chairs by the fishpond. It's very private and you can dine outside without being overlooked and overheard.
A large CLEAN pool is accessible through a gate on the other side of the garden with loungers etc.
What I like about this place is the attention to detail and thought that has gone into everything.
The only reason I gave 9 for local amenities is there is nothing in the hamlet, but there are plenty in nearby Matha.
Thank you for your kind comments and we are very happy you enjoyed your stay with us.
Our hamlet is very quiet, surrounded by fields of sunflowers and vineyards but Matha our bustling local market town has a full range of shops, 3 supermarkets, post office, banks , doctors etc, and is only 5 minutes drive from here
Looking forward to seeing you again next year
