We have lived in Saint Savinien sur Charente since 2004 with our 3 children. We have always loved the houses on Quai des Fleurs and when the opportunity arose last year year to buy one of these beautiful riverside townhouses, we jumped at the chance. We both work in the area and our 'no longer small' children go to school in Saintes, La Rochelle and uni in the UK.

|Why this location?||Saint Savinien is a picturesque small riverside market town, with bars, restaurants, shops and a market it has everything needed for a relaxing holiday, in addition it is located between Saintes and La Rochelle and close to the beautiful Atlantic coast, with its white sandy beaches (making it a surfers paradise).|
|Unique benefits of property||No 63 is located on the river Charente, we have a garden with terrace where you can dine directly on the riverside bank.
The property itself dates back to the early 1800's it was built by one of the wealthy merchants who settled in St Savinien.
Set over 3 floors this spacious townhouse has been modernised to provide 21st Century comfort, whilst retaining its original charm and features, the house is a typical French bourgeoise town house.
No63 offers the ideal balance between a calm and tranquil location and a town setting.
The river Charente which runs through the town is not only beautiful but offers a variety of activities, such as canoeing, kayaking and boating.
In our small picturesque town we have the benefit of a heated outdoor pool complex which is just a short walk from the house, made up of 3 pools geared for toddlers up to the most experienced swimmers, with slides, table tennis, grassy banks for sunbathing and a cafe it really is a great way to spend an afternoon, or for older children/ teenagers to be able to go to independently, without the need of a lift from Mum or Dad!.
Hire a boat for an hour or the whole day and explore the river
Tenis courts are available for hire in the town.
Our local riding stables are only 5km from the house, hacking in the woods through to lessons for the most experienced rider are avaiable.
Explore the town and its shops, cafes and restaurants, there is a twice weekly market for fresh local produce
We can highly recommend a number of local restaurants which serve fresh local produce.
Having lived in the area for 13 years we are more than happy to recommend places of interest to visit, restaurants, activities and beaches.
