Three double rooms, one being a kids room with bunk beds, a comfortable living room, a large and fully equipped kitchen with a dining area, Beauregard is the ideal accommodation if you look for quiet family holidays in Charente Maritime countryside, but not far from the seaside.
One of the double rooms has a balcony with a fantastic view on the swimming pool and the countryside around. On the ground floor, the living room opens to a nice and large shaded terrace.
It shares with 4 other rentals the large and safe garden (3000 m2), the tots playroom, the solar heated enclosed swimming pool and two playgrounds.
Only 35 min from the nearest beach, 1 hour from Bordeaux, 1h15 from La Rochelle, Beauregard is perfectly located for those who want to visit Charente Maritime. There are so many places of interest and so many things to do around, Roman Arena, vineyards, tree adventure park, go-karting, horse riding but you can also choose to stay and top up your tan on one of the swimming pool's deck chairs, while your kids enjoy a craft session with me (once a week).
We're only 8 min from the little medieval town of Pons, where you can find banks, post office, doctors, and of course supermarkets.
On Sundays, we invite you to a local products aperitif buffet, the opportunity to test Cognac, Pineau, melon, goat cheese, sausages, to meet other families, and to talk of all the nice places you should see around.
Come and share with us Charente Maritime dolce vita!
The large kitchen is well equipped (dishwasher, gas cooker, microwave, coffee-machine, kettle, toaster, fridge) has a comfortable dining area, but most of the time, guests enjoy having their meals (even breakfast) on the large shaded terrace with its bbq. On request, I can add highchairs or booster seats.
The comfortable living room (fresh when it starts to get hot outside) has tv with English free channels, dvd player, and 2 couches. We lend dvds for kids or parents if needed.
The large first double bedroom opens to a nice balcony which provides a fantastic view on the countryside. It has a comfortable double bed, 2 bedside tables, a living room area with a small couch and an armchair, a little desk, a drawer, and a cupboard.
The second double bedroom is very nice too though smaller, but it still provides a cupboard, a drawer and a cot can be installed if needed.
The kids room have two bunk beds, a single one can be added on demand. It has a cupboard, a book shelf and a bedside table.
The bathroom is nice and comfortable, and includes the toilet.
The heating is electric, if needed a stove is available in the living room. But with our weather, in summer, it's purely decorative!
On Sundays, we invite our guests to an aperitif buffet to taste local products (Cognac, Pineau, pork specialities, goat cheese and melon).
Once a week I do a craft session with kids according to their age.
We have plenty of games (board and outside) to lend, just ask!
The garden is divided into 2 parts, the smallest (200 m2) is the lime tree courtyard, and is closed by a gate, it has a little plastic kids cabin, and a swing. The largest one (1500 m2) is open to the surrounding fields, has a second swing, a slide, and a sandpit and a large trampoline.
The 9x4m swimming pool is entirely enclosed, and solar heated. Its depth starts at 80 cm down the stairs to finish at 150cm.
Two parking areas are on the property, large enough to welcome 6/8 cars (depending on how people park!)
A washing machine is available in the common laundry. Each gite has its own drying rack in addition of the common outside clothesline.
Once a week, I propose free craft sessions for kids under 12 (and older if they're interested). If the ages of the kids are too different I organise 2 sessions. We do painting, modelling, up-cycling, last summer i.e.,we made Minions pen pots, snails dough magnets (with the youngest ones), iron spiral jewelry (with 10 year old girls)... I only decide once I’ve met the kids and seen what they like. Same with the date, it depends on the families plans for the week.
When we, Michelle, Manu, Angela and Anouk, decided to leave Paris, we could only choose this beautiful region for our new life. We had spent here all our summer holidays for 8 years. A true love story! The light, the weather, the architecture, the beaches, the vineyards, the relaxed and kind population, and the food, we loved everything here! And three years later, we still do!<br/>So we bought this wonderful cluster of accommodations located in a former vinefarm and especially equipped for kids.
|Year property purchased||2014|
|Why this location?||We're ideally located between Royan (the sea), Cognac (the vineyards) and Saintes (the history and shopping). Our hamlet is very quiet in the countryside, surrounded by vineyards and fields, but only 8 km from Pons and all amenities. Our guests often say they had their best sleep here!
The highway is only 15 min drive, so one can easily visit all the region from here. Charente Maritime's weather is very nice, very sunny and warm (between 25 and 30°C in summer) but not too hot, and when it gets hot, you can go to the beach (35 min drive) or enjoy a picnic along the riverbank.
Romans site, Cognac farms, 12th century churches, medieval cities like Pons, etc...There are so many things to visit and do all around, for all ages, and the landscapes, all very different, ( vineyards, sunflowers, atlantic beaches, riverbanks, medieval cities etc...) are very beautiful.
|Unique benefits of property||Beauregard offers a fantastic view of the countryside from the bedroom's balcony, its 3 bedrooms, its living room are very comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped, and you will enjoy very much the large and shaded terrace. Outside you can play in the solar heated swimming pool, enjoy reading a book or talking with other guests in the shade of the big lime tree while your kids have fun in the playroom for the little ones (see the pictures). On Sundays, we offer our guests an aperitive buffet to have them taste local products (Pineau, Cognac, pork specialities, goat cheese, melon) and to talk about all the things they can visit or do while their stay. Once a week, I propose to the kids a craft session according to their age.|
