We are an Anglo-Irish family, the Millingtons, who have been living between La Rochelle in France and Wells Somerset and who started running holiday accommodation in La Rochelle shortly after we arrived. Our picture on this profile is of a trip of a lifetime we all took to India in 2016, and this was a moment when we were persuaded to dress in traditional garments!

|Why this location?||La Rochelle is the most attractive city on the west coast of France. The Charente Maritime area enjoys a 'micro-climate' of temperatures similar to those on the south coast of France, and the town centre is packed with markets, restaurants, historic architecture and summer attractions as well as a popular beach.
Our location is also a stone's throw - a short bike or bus ride - from the stunning Ile de Re with its great walks and bike rides, and beaches reminiscent of the Caribbean.
Bus stop right outside the residence with buses into town in 5 minutes, and linking to many other locations. No car necessary.
|Unique benefits of property||Light and airy home from home in great location near La Rochelle town centre, swimming pool during summer months, with free wi-fi, and tv channels from France and UK. Sleeps 2/4 (1 Bedroom with double bed, 1 sofa bed). Tv with French/UK channels. Shower room with toilet and sink. The apartment has its own garden table and chairs and own small bbq.|
Île de Ré is an island off the west coast of France near La Rochelle, on the northern side of the Pertuis d'Antioche strait. Its highest point has an elevation of 20 metres. It is 30 kilometres long and 5 kilometres wide.
An excellent property, with great hosts, good facilities and a fantastic pool outside. The facilities have clean and comfortable and lot's attention has been paid to the finer details.
La Rochelle is only a 30 minute walk away , with easy access to the quayside restaurants and other attractions (the Aquarium is a must! But go early to avoid the buy times). Boats trips are available to nearby Ile de Re which take around an hour. St Martin is a great place to wander around and browse the shops and restaurants.
We are SO delighted you had a good stay and from our side it was a total pleasure to host you! We really hope you'll come back our way again sometime, or if not, that we'll see you at your place back at home if we ever pass through your beautiful part of the UK. Take care all of you.
