|Garden Cottage||Self Catering||Flexible||2||4||1|
We created the cottage from buildings that were at one time the laundry and farm managers cottage. We have kept the character of the building whilst making it entirely new inside. The stable door opens into a good-sized living room with kitchen and dining areas and dining area. It’s very pretty and keeps cool in the summer sun.
The cottage has its own wi-fi which is of a really good speed.
The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you may need to prepare and eat meals. The floors are of handmade terracotta tiles and local stone. The open plan downstairs leads into a good sized shower room and wc. Here you will find the washing machine and a second door which opens out onto the swimming pool and the private garden beyond.
The house is equipped with everything needed by a family with young children. We have 2 highchairs, 2 travelcots, babybath, changing mats and children’s toys.
A spiral staircase leads to the first, double bedroom, with twin aspect windows looking over the gardens and the pool and a velux window in the roman-tiled roof. The windows all have shutters and the velux a blind. A door leads to the second bedroom, whose window looks out onto a creeper-clad roof, and which also has a velux in the ceiling. These are both floored in light, modern wood, and feature the original beams.
The garden is our pride and joy it is full of colour even in the hottest seasons and is a wonderfully relaxing place to be.
The property has its own water heating system with a good size tank which is on the whole time so lots of hot water.
The cottage is equipped with smoke alarms and fire extinguisher and fire blanket. The cottage is very secure and there is private off road parking behind the cottage garden gates.
We have been letting our cottage for 10 years now and have had some excellent reviews this is our first year with Holiday France Direct so there are none on this website. We will be happy to provide you with the reviews if you wish to see them.
These are combined in one large, airy living space.

The cottage has a pine dining table and 6 matching chairs. We also provide everything you will need for pretty table settings both inside and outdoor dining.
We have as much crockery as you could need plus plastic cups bowls and plates for our much younger guests. There are cupboards for food storage.

There is a tv monitor and dvd player plus a dvd library with some of the latest children’s films. There are books which you may exchange and many boardgames. There are wall and side lights. There are also 2 radiators shelves and tables.
One double bedroom, with double bed ,chairs, bed side tables, one with draws, and a chest of drawers. There are 2 windows overlooking the garden both with shutters and the larger one with pretty ironwork. There is also a velux window.

Situated in a large well-maintained and pretty garden, with your own private area to yourselves, which is fairly secluded. Shared use of pool means it’s normally just my husband and I who will be sharing with you (this system has worked perfectly for a decade, so we know it makes sense!) The pool can be accessed from the back door of the cottage and is covered by a child safe rigid cover. It has recently had a new heating system added.
The garden has loungers, a garden dining table, 4 chairs and parasols. We supply a large charcoal barbecue.
Easy, safe, free parking just outside the property.
Especially good for young families (2 adults and 2 children), though we've hosted happy couples of all sorts of ages and families with older children. Dogs are allowed by special arrangement...more likely out of season or the tail end (pardon the pun) of season - not least because it can get hot, and many beaches don't allow dogs in height of summer.
There are countless activities to be had nearby including off road cycling, kayaking, sailing, surfing and bird watching......
Our home in Chenac has been part of our family life for 28 years now. We have 4 grown up children and in the last 6 years we have been lucky to have 8 grandchildren. My husband Henry works in tv and I was a teacher, we met at University. We have lovingly restored our house over the years and on my retirement we decided to restore the garden cottage as a new project. Our interests as a couple are sailing/travel/wine/gastronomy/cycling/books and walking. We have loved meeting our cottage guests.
