The gite was built in 1833 with the house having been added in 1900. It is a lovely 3 bedroom gite with an lots of original features including 2 stone charentaise fireplaces, the original stone stove and sink (just a feature not in working use!).
The gite comprises a kitchen, spacious living area with plenty of seating and stairs that lead up to the 3 bedrooms upstairs. Two doubles and one twin. There is a recently updated shower room with a separate loo.
The downstairs is tiled throughout and upstairs is light grey parquet flooring throughout.
It is south facing and so you see the sun rise in the morning and set in the evening.
There are 2 doors from the outside, one goes into the kitchen and the other into the sitting room. In the kitchen is a stone fire place and the stone stove and sink, 2 windows looking over the fields next door.
There is a pine table with benches, a pine work station, fridge-freezer, gas oven and hob, enamel sink and drainer. There is also a microwave and a dishwasher.
Plenty of plates, glasses and pots and pans etc.
The living room is light and spacious with an original stone fireplace, in working order. It looks out onto the garden and the pool.
There are 2 sofas and an armchair, tv with English Freeview channels, dvd player and a selection of dvds.
Stairs lead from the sitting room upstairs.
There are 3 bedrooms, 2 doubles that both look out to the garden and pool and also with views across the rolling countryside, vines and to the Gironde estuary.
There is one twin room that interconnects with one of the doubles and has a big Velux window.
The bathroom was recently updated with new shower. There is a single sink set in a wooden chest of drawers, a Velux window.
There is a separate loo next to the bathroom.
There are electric heaters throughout.
The garden is an acre. The pool is set in front of the property which is perfect if children need to be kept an eye on.
The pool is 10m x 5m and has a brand new liner. It is also fitted with an electric cover which is in line with the French laws.
There are plenty of sunloungers, sail shades to shade you from the sun but also lots of shade provided around the garden by trees.
As the house faces south it sees the sun all day
There is safe parking next to the gite.
Suitable for couples or families.
We do allow well behaved dogs but they must not go on any furniture or upstairs. And definitely not in the pool!
Moved to France in 2001 to have a change of life from the life we were living in London. We have been here ever since, running our 2 businesses, one here in the west and the other a ski business in the alps. What an amazing 17 years!

Talmont is a lovely car free village with charming narrow streets lined with roses and hollyhocks.
There are lovely artisan shops and restaurants. It is just a short drive from La Blanchetterie and is well worth a visit. It is listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France.
Perched on a cliff, the Romanesque art church of Sainte-Radegonde dominates the Gironde estuary. What a magnificent picture! It is the perfect place for a stroll.
