Our beautiful stone house has been renovated to a very high standard internally and externally. Key to a relaxing holiday is the pool, surrounded by decking within a private walled courtyard. The outside eating area is a delightful setting to enjoy leisurely meals al fresco. Inside the house is a large open plan living/dining/kitchen with exposed stone walls and a wood burning stove, tastefully furnished with leather sofas. The property has one downstairs bedroom with wet room (with disabled access) and 3 upstairs bedrooms, 2 with shower rooms and 1 with bathroom, all with high ceilings, large windows and fantastic exposed oak beams. All the bedrooms are furnished in a traditional French style. The property has views over open fields and the adjacent chateau.
The oak kitchen has been comprehensively equipped, and the large refectory style oak table provides ample seating for 10. There is an induction hob, oven, fridge-freezer, microwave and dishwasher.
Downstairs is all open plan with high ceilings and exposed stone walls. There is an original fireplace with woodburning stove and 2 leather sofas, an arm chair and footstool.
Each of the 4 bedrooms has an en suite bath or shower room. The bedrooms a furnished with cherry wood beds and wardrobes.They have lovely large windows with rural views.
There are 4 shower or bathrooms, all en suite. The downstairs bedroom has a wheelchair friendly wet room. Upstairs there are 2 shower rooms and 1 bathroom.
There is satellite tv with UK channels,and a dvd player.
To the rear of the property is an enclosed courtyard with a private heated pool (4m x 9m and 1.4m deep). The courtyard is decked, and has a table to seat 8 and sunloungers. In front of the house there is a large lawned area, perfect for a kick around.
There is ample parking. In front of the house there is space for 2 cars and there's plenty of parking space at the end of the garden.
Rebecca is a teacher, specialising in French of course! Adrian works in manufacturing. We have three grown up children.

|Why this location?||We looked for a house in the Charente Maritime region as Rebecca had enjoyed many holidays there as a child and loved the area. We bought 3 Roussillon in 2006, when it was a complete wreck and hadn't been lived in for over 10 years, with the intention of gradually doing it up. We soon realised that if we did the work ourselves our children would be grown up before we'd finished! So we enlisted the help of some local artisans to restore the house. We love its peaceful location, the large windows and the backdrop of the chateau.|
|Unique benefits of property||Our house has 4 en suite bath or shower rooms so it perfect for sharing. Downstairs is level and the downstairs wet room is suitable for people with mobility issues. The pool is very private and the courtyard is a gorgeous sun trap.|
Pretty town with medieval keep and the Hopital des Pelerins with its herb and medicinal gardens where pilgrims would stay en route to Santiago de Compostella
This fabulous property is just the place for a wonderful holiday. The owners are helpful and friendly - so happy to answer questions from anything to best routes for your journey, to historical information on the property and surrounding area. A great base for exploring this pretty part of France, and so peaceful for days spent relaxing by the private pool. Set in the grounds of a chateau and surrounded by vineyards and sunflower fields - we didn’t want to leave. It is comfortable and well equipped, lovely to have en suite for all bedrooms - and lovely to have the space for all to eat or relax whether outside or inside. We would totally recommend!
My family and I enjoyed a very peaceful and relaxing holiday at 3 Roussillon in late summer last year. The property is very well presented, having been tastefully updated, furnished and decorated. The kitchen is especially well equipped.
Outside, we enjoyed using the well-heated swimming pool and the decked patio which is secluded and extensive. Ideal for barbeques and al fresco dinners! Although the property has a small bike shed, we decided to bring our own - there's plenty of space to store them on the patio
The property is only a mile or so from the local village where you can pick up bread from the vending machine. Alternatively the nearest town is only four miles away where there is a well-sized Super U and petrol station.
Over all, this is a lovely property in which to spend a summer holiday, and excellently located for a number of local attractions and nearby coastline. We look forward to returning!
