About this property

Creature Comforts Surrounded by Stonework and Beams . This cottage/gite is in a rural setting.

Mulsanne is one of our 3 bedroom gites. It has an open plan feel to it and is light and airy but cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
Frenchdoors open up into the open kitchen dining area, which in turn opens up into the lounge. A large bathroom leads off from the lounge, stairs from the lounge rise up to the gallery landing that has doorways to all 3 bedrooms and the toilet/ shower.
The whole building is well over 2 hundred years old and has beautiful exposed stonework and large oak beams throughout.
Stair gates are in place for little ones including other useful toddler items.

Kitchen and dining

The open plan kitchen and dining area offers all that you would expect from a modern gite. It also has a touch of the old with its large oak dining table.

The stairs lead up to the first floor gallery landing. From here you'll have a great view of the lounge below and its lovely stonework. From the landing doorways lead off to all 3 bedrooms and the shower/ toilet.

Just off the lounge is the downstairs bathroom. Inside you'll see that its quite large a easily accommodates its bath, toilet and sink vanity unit. On the first floor we've added a shower room with toilet and sink.

Mulsanne benefits from a large built in wood burner and full oil fired central heating for those cooler out of season months.

Lots of books are stored in the lounge along with a dvd library. Lots of toys for all ages are found in the gite along with lots outside.

About the Owner/Advertiser, Mr Darren Womack

We are a family of 4 who have lived in this beautiful area of France for 14 years. In fact both of our daughters were born in France and attend local schools. For Sara and myself moving to France from the UK and creating our family home and 3 beautiful gites was indeed the best move that we could have done.

Why this location? Because of its rural but not isolated location. In fact we are situated in the triangle between St Jean d'Angely (little market town), Saintes with it's Roman heritage and Cognac, famous of course for its delightful 40% spirit that takes it's name from the City. Within a 45 minute drive you'll find a great selection of family friendly beaches. Or maybe just strolling around the vines and sunflower fields that surround our local hamlet. 1hr 10 minutes away are 2 stunning Islands: Ile de Re with it's chic shops and restaurants whilst Ile d'Oleron offers beautiful pine clad sandy beaches with a touch of the wild side.
Unique benefits of property After spending a relaxing break in one of our gites you'll head home full of great memories of your holiday in France. Why.. because what other gites offer what we do. Children can run wild and let of steam in our secure/ fenced park. With 2 salt water, heated pools to keep them splashing around for hours on end and a Hot tub for adults the pool area is always popular with all generations. There is also a shady quiet corner near the pools that you can read a book or simply watch the children make use of the water slide and the colourful inflatables.
In the garden children of all ages will love the 30 mtr zip line that starts from our quite large Pirate boat. 2 trampolines with also help to make sure that the little ones sleep at night, Free to use mountain bikes are available for young and old alike. Oh.. did we mention our mini farm with "Truffle" our little dwarf piggy, lots of chickens, Gandolf our goose and a Turkey named "Christmas"!
