I retired to France with my husband Chris 15 years ago. We adore the French way of life, food and wine. I previously worked for British Airways for 20 years. We have renovated our home and have decided that it would be kind to let others experience what living in France attracted us so much.

|Why this location?||We are very well located here. It takes 50 mins to get to Bordeaux Cognac, Angouleme, and Saintes. There are beautiful beaches 45 mins away. Beautiful golf courses and wonderful lakes.
Although we are rural we are not isolated. The area has alot of history and the little villages and churches are very picturesque.
|Unique benefits of property||Our property has been renovated for socialising. The vast kitchen/dining area/lounge enables families and friends to be together without feeling claustrophobic. It is a very happy place and benefits from the pool area/eating area to become part of the house.
Having said that, there is also a lounge for getting away and having a quiet time.
We do live on-site so we can be as available or unavailable as you like.
Fabulous restaurant which isn't too expensive in the day. The restaurant is 6km away.
Set amidst fields of gold sunflowers and lush green vines this house offers a homely feel with touch of luxury. A blend of charming rustic and modern features makes this place a pleasure to be in. The galleried entrance hall offered a WOW factor and traditional stone walls kept the house cool. The little touches from crisp white bed linen to the little candles were appreciated. This house was well equipped offering fans in every bedroom, a gym and plenty of family games from darts to table tennis for all of us to enjoy. The pool area had views across the countryside which could also be seen from the kitchen, terrace and garden, a very tranquil and peaceful setting. We loved using the bbq each evening and watching the stars from the very large comfy outdoor sofa. The covered alfresco dining area was very romantic, all set up with fairy lights and candles at night and offered shade during the day. Internet could be accessed from the pool (rare in a French property as most pools are set away from the house). A great sociable place indoor and out, a well equipped kitchen with ice maker was great, something we had never had before on our previous French holidays and was fab. Caroline and Chris were fantastic hosts, they made us feel very welcome, were discreet but readily available should we needed them. The chilled champagne in the fridge on arrival and basket of grocery goodies was not expected and such a lovely treat, thank you. Xxxx
It was an absolute pleasure having Richard and his family to stay. They were so respectful with our home and they left it spotlessly clean.
Thank you X
