Stunningly beautiful manor house with wonderful far reaching views along the river Charente. This spacious property sleeps 14 people in 7 bedrooms, making it well suited for families travelling together, an ideal place for that special celebration.
The house is unique in terms of it's facilities and location, situated in the pretty market town of Saint Savinien sur Charente, it is just a short stroll from the market, boutique shops, bars and restaurants and yet the property boasts 2 private gardens, 1 with river frontage and terrace and the other with a large private pool, terraces and covered games area, giving you truly the best of both worlds!
Set over 3 floors, the house has an open plan kitchen and lounge, which leads directly onto the terrace, pool area and garden, a gamesroom with billiard/snooker table, dining room and office area (as we recognise that some members of the party may still need some 'work time' whilst others simply relax). The 7 bedrooms are set over the first and second floors. To the rear of the house is a beautiful terrace with outdoor tables and chairs, a stunning and very large (13mx6m) pool, covered games area with table tennis table.
The house is situated on the Quai and to the front of the property, over a quiet one way street, is a large riverside garden and terrace with outstanding views along the river Charente.
Nearby local amenities include supermarkets, restaurants, bars, boutique shops and art galleries, boulangeries, delicatessen, market and train station, all within walking distance.

We have lived in St Savinien since 2004 and love the town and surrounding area, being right on the river Charente yet within a short stroll of the picturesque town centre it really is the best of both worlds. We own and run a property management company in the Charente Maritime and are fortunate to both own and manage some amazing properties in this beautiful part of France.

|Why this location?||Saint Savinien is a small picturesque market town, it has everything for day to living, shops, bars, restaurants and small boutique shops and galleries, however, the larger towns and cities of La Rochelle, Bordeaux, Saintes and Rochefort are all close by and accessible by train.
We are less than 30 minutes from the breathtaking Atlantic coast and we also have the river Charente literally on our doorstep.
|Unique benefits of property||The unique benefits of No 57 Quai des Fleurs are it's location on the banks of the river Charente, it's luxurious private outdoor pool and it's proximity to bars and restaurants, you could park the car and leave it for your entire stay if you so wished.|
No 57 offers the ideal balance between a calm and tranquil location and a town setting.
The river Charente which runs through the town is not only beautiful but offers a variety of activities, such as canoeing, kayaking and boating.
In our small picturesque town we have the benefit of a heated outdoor pool complex which is just a short walk from the house, made up of 3 pools geared for toddlers up to the most experienced swimmers, with slides, table tennis, grassy banks for sunbathing and a cafe it really is a great way to spend an afternoon, or for older children/ teenagers to be able to go to independently, without the need of a lift from Mum or Dad!.
Tennis courts are available for hire in the town.
Bike hire is available in the town
Our local riding stables are only 5km from the house, hacking in the woods through to lessons for the most experienced rider are avaiable.
Cinema, we have a lovely small independantly run cinema in the town, it shows a variety of films every week and often in original version, meaning there are often english spoken films shown, it's wonderfully comfortable and a throw back to the old cinemas before multi screen complexes took over.
Explore the town and its shops, cafes and restaurants, there is a twice weekly market for fresh local produce.
We can highly recommend a number of local restaurants which serve fresh local produce.
Having lived in the area for 15 years we are more than happy to recommend places of interest to visit, restaurants, activities and beaches.
Being on the Atlantic coast we are spoilt for choice as far as beaches are concerned, with over 100 miles of coast line you can choose from; surfers paradise, remote and tranquil beaches (which even in the height of summer remain quiet and unspoilt), through to beaches in towns such as Royan, St Palais sur Mer, to name but a few, beaches with rock pools, family beaches with a quiet coast line, making it safer for younger children.
Boating - hire a boat from anything from an hour to an entire day locally (within walking distance) take a picnic and explore the River
Waterskiing club at nearby Taillebourg
Canoeing, kayaking and paddleboards at nearby Port d'envaux
The Aquarium at La Rochelle is a wonderful place to spend a day, it's one of the largest Aquariums in Europe and their commitment to the environment and protection of marine life is exemplary.
La Palmyre Zoo, set in 18 hectares of pine forest on the Atlantic coast, it's home to over 1,600 animals and reptiles.
The visitor experience is like nothing we've experienced before you get so close to the animals and you can actually feed the giraffes
Puy de Fou, a little further afield but well worth the journey, get there early, plan your day and prepare to be amazed, it's our favourite place and never disappoints! Make sure the next day you plan a lazy day by the pool.
The beautiful and historic small city of La Rochelle is 45 minutes from the house, we cannot recommend a visit to this fabulous place highly enough, beautiful and well maintained architecture, mouth watering restaurants (sea food a speciality) boutique shops, port, Aquarium, daily market, famous Rugby team ....as you can tell we love La Rochelle
The Roman towns of Saintes and Rochefort are both within a 20 minute drive and Bordeaux, although slightly further (1hr20) is well worth the trip
We are so fortunate to have a small train station in the town.
From here you can go to La Rochelle, Saintes, Rochefort and Bordeaux.
Leave the car at home and enjoy a leisurely lunch at one of the amazing restaurants these towns can offer.
Please note though it is a small station and as such we only have a handful of trains each day, no high speed rail links here!
We provide a comprehensive guest pack which will include details on all of these activities plus many many more, however should you have any specific requests or questions then please don't hesitate to ask.
