Robins Nest is a large one bedroom cottage (part of our ancient Longere Farmhouse) set in a peaceful rural hamlet. This pretty ground floor acommodation is great for couples or families looking for a well equipped, characterful holiday home without stairs.
Robins Nest has an open plan lounge/diner with kitchen corner.
Two sofas (one of which is a comfy sofa bed).
English tv and Blu Ray player.
Spacious bathroom with bath and separate shower cubicle, toilet and washbasin.
Large bedroom with king size bedstead and 3' single divan. Space for extra bed.
Cot on wheels which makes moving a sleeping baby into the lounge simple.
The gardens and parking areas are on level ground with few steps.
The grounds are completely enclosed and parking is on one of our drives, separate from child play areas.
This versatile ground floor cottage can be rented as a single property (sleeping 3/4) or joined to Lark Rise Farmhouse (via an internal, lockable, soundproofed hallway ). This makes it ideal for families and friends wishing to holiday in one big house together (sleeping 15 plus cots).

Extensive information regarding sites of tourist interest is provided in each gite and many of our guests complain they run out of time to visit them all!
Being centrally situated in the Poitou Charentes means that day trips are possible to the Southern Loire, Atlantic coast, Northern Dordogne and Limousin.

NEARBY MARKET TOWNS
The nearest market towns are Chef Boutonne, Melle, Lezay and Sauze Vaussais. The closest is an easy seven minute drive (or cycle) down quiet country lanes and has a colourful Saturday market, Chateau with lake, choice of 2 supermarkets and traditional small shops, bars, restaurants, cinema, chemists/doctors/dentist/district nurse.
If however you just want to ‘potter around’ locally we can recommend many lovely river or lakeside villages, play areas for the children, quiet cycling routes (flat or hilly) or perhaps just relaxing round the pool!
Staying In our peaceful hamlet you will be pleasantly surprised to see no more than a handful of cars each day. The locals are very welcoming and happy to help you practice your French skills.

The kitchen area has recently been improved and now provides ample wall and floor cabinets (with child locks). Cooker, fridge-freezer and microwave. The pretty butler sink is set into a country pine cabinet.

The cot is 'English style ' drop side cot with very useful wheels which enable parents to move baby from bedroom into lounge without waking him/her.
