Birch Lodge is a cosy and characterful little place which forms half of a converted barn, with a through lounge, dining area, and kitchen equipped with a fridge, cooker, microwave, coffee-machine and dishwasher, and downstairs shower room with modern corner shower unit with body jets etc.
The double staircase leads up to the bedrooms either side of the main roof beam. The bedrooms are arranged as one double and one twin (which can have an extra single child's bed), each with a velux window in the sloping ceiling with its original beams. There are shared laundry and freezer facilities.
Birch Lodge has a lovely patio area beside the shrubs, with outdoor table and chairs with parasol. Guests also have access to the 3/4 acre grounds including enclosed garden with play equipment and of course the gorgeous 11.5 x 5.5m pool with safety alarm, and also a picnic area and a pool shelter/bar area.
We pride ourselves on being family-friendly. Stairgates, highchairs, travel cots and booster seats are available on request. The whole site is enclosed and set well back from the rural road. The recreation and pool areas are also separately gated, and the pool is alarmed. Bikes are provided for you to explore the area on 2 wheels if you wish, and there is plenty to entertain the whole family on site.
We are set in the heart of the Southern Deux-Sèvres countryside, between Lezay and Sauzé-Vaussais in central Poitou-Charentes. Close to Poitiers, Limoges, Angouleme and La Rochelle, there's plenty to do in this beautiful part of France.

Living area with tv including UK satellite. Open plan to the dining and kitchen area, and open staircase to the upstairs bedrooms, and with french doors opening to the garden and patio area.
A double staircase leads to 2 bedrooms, either side of the large main beam of the barn. Sloping ceilings, beams and Velux windows add an abundance of character. One bedroom is a double, the other a twin, which can have a 3rd child's bed added. Cots and stairgates can be provided on request.
Downstairs wc and shower room. All light and bright, with modern fittings including a corner shower cubicle with body jets.
Heating is not usually required during the summer months, in fact fans are what are normally needed, and these are provided in the bedrooms. Plug in heaters are available, however, if the weather happens to turn cooler.
The pool and gardens provide most entertainment on-site, as well as the barbecue. However, satellite tv is also provided. We also have an abundance of toys and games, and bikes are available for the whole family to borrow if you wish. Free wi-fi is also provided.
Set in 3/4 acres of safe and secure grounds, there is a gated garden with swings, and also a goal, badminton net and basketball hoop. The pool is the main attraction, and within this area also are picnic tables in the shade, and a covered bar area. Patio area with outdoor table and chairs outside the cottage.
Private on-site parking at the end of the drive for several vehicles beyond the gates.
Ideal for couples, families or groups, as several of the gites can be rented together at one time to accommodate extended family or friends. Having children ourselves, we know how difficult it can be travelling with all the things a family can need, so we strive to provide as much as possible for you, including cots, high chairs, stairgates etc.

A wonderful friendly site run by Paul and Carol, who gave us the best holiday. They were extremely helpful in all matters that we asked them and at the same time allowed us to be on holiday. Would recommend to all families thinking of visiting this area to stay here.
The Gite was clean well stocked and had everything that you needed and more. The kids enjoyed the pool and garden area.
Thanks again for our two weeks.
Set in beautiful countryside, this well equipped, comfortable gite provided everything we need for a peaceful and relaxing family holiday. The gite was accurately described and pictured, was clean and comfortable and I have already recommended it to family and friends. All messages to Carol (owner) were promptly replied to. The welcome pack was an added bonus and the birthday card and gift for our daughter was above and beyond.
All in all, a wonderful holiday and we hope to return again soon.
