|Why this location?||We bought the property because of its location - the region with the second highest number of sunshine hours in France - and because of its proximity to the ocean. Also its easy access to trains, airports, channel ports and main highways. Located between the magnificent chateaux of Loire Valley which start at the picturesque town of Blois and its Leonardo da Vinci museum; the Dordogne valley, with its vineyards, wine tasting at St. Emilion and crusader history; and the historic La Rochelle on the Atlantic Coast, making it an excellent base to explore these areas full of Roman history. The layout of the 3.6 acres property was a special attraction. Its private driveway provided complete privacy, ample lawns, and grounds to put in a 12 x 5m pool with surrounding terrace, which we did in 2005.|
