Why this location? Poitou Charentes is a sunny and unspoilt region close to the sea. You can enjoy a relaxing lifestyle, cycling, walking or boating along the waterways surrounded by the lush woods of the National Park. We are spoilt with medieval history and charming villages. The nearby market towns of Niort with its twin donjons overlooking the river or La Rochelle's old Port are wonderful places for a leisurely coffee.
The Futuroscope in Poiters is a magical interactive park full of attractions to entertain young ones all day. Voted the best historical theme park in the world, the Puy de Fou near Nantes is where the whole family can witness history unravel, from a full size Roman arena where gladiators fight lions, to the dramatic Viking invasion of a wooden village. The spectacle of armoured knights defending a besieged castle on fire is mind blowing.
The nearby Atlantic coast brings to the markets an abundance of fresh seafood and oysters, dry sauvignon wines, crusty baguettes and sweet melons
Unique benefits of property The Logis de Bellevue is surrounded by a stone wall and electrically operated gates which provide a secure environment for young children and the parking of cars. We are just 5 minutes’ walk from the lively riverside village of Coulon's restaurants, bakery, cafes, shops and Sunday market.
You can hire cycles by the day and boats by the hour to explore the different treasures of the Green Venice.
Our terraces face south and provide adequate space to enjoy outdoor meals or relaxing in the sun. There is plenty of space for young ones to play games like badminton, boules and table tennis. For those enjoying football there is a full size playing field opposite our premises.
Our swimming pool is protected by an alarm which detects anyone entering the pool, although it is the parents responsibility to control and watch out for the safety of young ones at all times.

L'Atelier Gourmand Restaurant, Coulon (Place de la Pechoire)

I can highly recommend this gite. We had a really lovely holiday here. The owners Marylyn and Tony were extremely friendly and helpful, recommending many places to visit. The surrounding area is very pretty and unspoilt with the vast network of waterways in the Marais Poitevin to explore by boat or bicycle. We would love to stay there again.
