Maison Jacques is a large Charentaise village house which has recently been renovated to a very high standard throughout.
The ground floor has a spacious modern kitchen/diner with all appliances including a dishwasher. There is a separate utility having laundry facilities and separate cloakroom. A comfortable salon with seating arranged around a coffee-table and tv having English channels. Stone stairs lead down to the atmospheric vaulted cellar dining room.
A striking staircase leads to the first floor with 2 fabulous double bedrooms. One with luxurious en-suite bathroom having roll top bath, the other an excellent shower room.
A further set of stairs lead to the charming second floor bedrooms. One having a king size bed and day bed, the other twin beds. A bath/shower room is set between them.
Outside the property is a fully enclosed mature front garden with table and chairs. To the side of the house between the barns is the beautiful private heated swimming pool (11 x 5 metres and with full width steps) having wide patios with sunloungers and poolside furniture. It is surrounded by grassy areas and various shrubs including olives, fig, lavender and jasmine. Being illuminated it makes a wonderful place to relax by day or night. The smaller barn has stairs to a summer kitchen and dining area overlooking the pool and patio area. The large barn has further table and chairs and a barbecue.
The market town of Chef Boutonne can be found approximately 5 km from the property. A little further afield are La Rochelle (1h10), Atlantic Beaches (1h30), Futuroscope (50 min), Vallee de Singes (45 min), Puy du Fou (1h45), Cognac (1h00).

Maison Jacques would be suitable for extended families, 2 families wishing to holiday together or a number of couples. The property offers spacious and comfortable accommodation for all parties of all ages, looking for a base from which to explore or for a leisurely week by the pool.

The day bed in bedroom 3 can accommodate additional children if required and can be made up on request prior to your visit.
A self selection bread machine is located a short walk from the property. It dispenses a choice of fresh bread. The children love it!
Glenda and Stuart Youlden bought Maison Jacques to renovate into a family holiday home. After much hard work over five years we feel the property has reached the high standard which can be appreciated by other holidaymakers.

The second largest wetland in France. Hire a flat bottomed boat or paddle your own canoe. Perfect for nature lovers especially birdwatchers.
Beautiful old port to explore. You can hire a Segway to see the sights or take a boat trip to Fort Boyard. The Aquarium is worth a visit especially if you have children with you.
More than 450 animals roam within a natural wooded park. A huge hit with the children.
Lovely spacious house, at the edge of a village. Beautiful pool area and pool house with shaded eating area. Excellent bathrooms and spacious modern shower facilities. Useful utility area.
