We have 2 three bedroomed Gites side by side. The Farmhouse sleeps 8 and the cottage sleep 4. Plus cots for babies. The buildings date from the 18th Century as a small farming commune. The previous occupiers/owners family still own and manage the surrounding area which is mainly pasture for their cows but changing to arable such as rapeseed, maize and similar crops. The area is famous for its apple production, known as the Gatine and is a favourite walking and cycling area with many marked routes. With the many fishing lakes and 'Pescalis' nearby it is also popular with visiting fisherman due to the wide variety of fish and huge Carp in the area.
Laboule gites are set in 2 acres of private garden with an in-ground heated swimming pool in a figure of 8 shape it measures 9.2m x 6m with a constant depth of between 1.3m and 1.5m. Most visitors have access to a car however we can provide a collection or drop off service to the nearby airports of Poitier, la Rochelle or Limoges.
We would recommend that a car is utilised to see the nearby attractions as taxis are few and far between.

Our family (parents plus two children aged 12 and 10) enjoyed a wonderful week at La Boule Gites in Le Beugnon in western France.
Audra Denton, the owner, is an extremely friendly, knowledgable and helpful Scottish lady, who really went out of her way to ensure that we had a great week. From the generous welcome basket of food and wine, the present for our son on his birthday, and the advice on what to see and do, her constant yet un-intrusive attention was invaluable.
The gites are a conversion of historic farm buildings. Ours was well laid out, spacious, comfortable and clean, although adults should beware of the low beams upstairs. The pool and outside space are lovely, and shared with guests in the adjoining gite. The countryside is beautiful, and although Le Beugnon is somewhat isolated, there are shopping facilities (including a supermarket) a few miles away in nearby Secondigny.
We would certainly recommend La Boule Gites to family and friends, and hope to visit again.
Four of us stayed at the La Boule Farmhouse (including a 16 and 20 year old) and we totally fell in love with the area at first sight. The farmhouse is very comfortable with lovely big bedrooms and a great kitchen. Audra was very welcoming and knowledgable about the area. The pool area was an absolute godsend as it was so hot. We would recommend visiting la Puy du Fuy, Vouvant and the restaurant by the lake in Secondigny - the food is amazing. There are very few places we would like to go back to but this is a definite - see you soon Audra.
Thankyou very much for your review, really appreciated .
Your a lovely family and it was a pleasure to host you xxx thanks Jill , richard and the girls.
On arriving at La Boule we were warmly greeted by Michael and Audra and quickly melted into our new surroundings. A bumper welcoming basket was a super sight after a long drive. The Grite La Boule is a splendid size for a large family, we are a family of six and would easily fit 8 or more. The welcoming crisp white linen sheets, Egyptian cotton towels and comfortable beds were greatly appreciated. The Gite is freshly decorated with a shabby chic interior and sits on two acres deep in the country surrounded by tranquil views. The pool was an instant hit with the 4 children but there’s also football nets, swings, table tennis, darts and a trampoline, not to mention the two acres of land to run about on. Michael and Audra are constantly working on their dream so it will only get better.
Michael and Audra gave us exceptional advice on where to go and even post codes of where to park our car. I’m very sure that we wouldn’t have had as many wonderful days out if it wasn’t for their great advise and this personal touch. With great conversation, Michael and Audra certainly made our stay all the better, we even got to sample some of Audra’s delicious cooking.
This area is probably the best we have visited in France, the most gorgeous countryside, empty roads and the people are very warm and friendly, with charming towns and pretty villages in every direction I feel that we couldn’t have been located in a better area. We had a great week and would highly recommend it.
