Les Forges, which is only 1.5km away has a recently-opened bar-restaurant as well as the bar/restaurant at the golf club, which is open to the public.
To get here it is only 4 hours drive from the ferry ports of Caen and St Malo or 6/7 hours from Calais. You could also fly into Poitiers, about 30 mins away or La Rochelle, about 1hr 20 mins away which are both served from various UK airports. The Eurostar / TGV combination via Lille or Paris is also a very easy and enjoyable way to travel. Car hire, available here through the local supermarkets, is very reasonable.
We are also very near to the villages of Vasles, Menigoute and Sanxay which offer plenty of amenities, such as restaurants, cafe-bar, mini-supermarkets, butchers, bakers, pharmacy, petrol-station, and weekly markets.
The 2nd most popular attraction in France, this futuristic theme park with 3D & 4D cinemas, motion simulators & high-tech, multimedia attractions is celebrating it's 30th anniversary this year. Only 45 minutes away and well worth a visit.
This area is great for cycling with lots of choice from country lanes to muddy tracks. With avid cyclists in the family here, there are always plenty of recommendations of good routes to take, whatever your level might be.
There are numerous options, from the outdoor lido type pool at Sanxay, to the indoor wave pool at Parthenay to the various plan d'eau's available in the local area which are a man made beach next to a swimming/activity lake, usually with a park or watersports centre nearby too. The beautiful clean beaches at La Rochelle or Chataillon Plage are only 1h 30 away and well worth a visit.
