First review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fabulous place
This property is a fantastic find. A dream home for your holiday with a well maintained heated pool which entertained all ages, and a pool table in a games room for some down-time. The house is beyond what you might hope for with lots of bedroom space and lots of places for groups to sit in sofas, at tables, at breakfast bar or on the patio. Everything for families was available including plasticware for safe poolside; and wifi for inside and outdoors. Added bonuses in the property include large grassy garden at the back with room for football; and the barbecue area has both shade and sunshine. The area is beautiful, with lots of activities in local area for families - abbey, chateaux, local zoo, bird sanctuary, and rich with local culture and french cuisine. This is an exceptional property, which offers a superb holiday destination.
A beautiful gem in tranquil countryside
★ ★ ★ ★ ★
Sarah's house is a real gem. It's beautifully decorated throughout with lots of thought given to creating cosy spaces within the open plan ground floor. This was absolutely perfect for socialising together with our family while giving everyone enough space.
The kitchen is well equipped with a lovely large range cooker and a large fridge freezer and ice maker. We had no problems cooking nice dinners for our large family.
The games room was really great and provided lots of entertainment with the pool table in near constant use after the kids were in bed!
The outside area is where this place comes into its own and is what made us stop in our tracks when we first arrived
The field in the back is very large and green with trees dotted around so the view is uninterrupted countryside. This gives the place a good sense of privacy and tranquility.
The BBQ area, again has been set up with socialising in mind, with a built in grill and cooking area and a large table for the whole family.
The pool is very inviting; it's large and clean with lots of loungers, umbrellas and inflatables to keep everyone happy.
The upstairs was again beautifully decorated. The bathrooms were spacious and the bedrooms comfortable with lots of storage for our clothes.
The location is remote which was absolutely perfect for us. We enjoyed cycling in the countryside and visiting the local towns from our base and the large supermarket was only 10 minutes drive away.
The place is very kid friendly with a cot, high chair and bed guard in the house. The toy box was also a big hit. There is no guard around the pool so we needed to be vigilant with put life vests on our little ones but it wasn't a hassle. And the pool cover is quite simple to take off an on which is a bonus
The house is very newly renovated and as such is squeaky clean in all areas.
Sarah the host was excellent in her communication and generously helped us throughout our stay.
We had a lovely holiday and would definitely stay there again. This is a perfect place for large groups who want to spend quality time together in very relaxing surroundings.

My husband Tom and I have been renovating properties for many years, this is our first in France. The old part of the farmhouse and garage have been completely rebuilt to include a large airy dining room and games room with vaulted ceilings. <br/>Solid oak stairs lead up to spacious oak floored bedrooms. Downstairs is tiled throughout for clean living.

|Why this location?||The location is ideal for the perfect get-away-from-it-all break. Set in its own fully enclosed gardens with ample space for relaxation under the shade of trees or around the large 10 x 5m heated in ground pool. Yet only 10 minutes drive from shops/restaurants and supermarkets.
|Unique benefits of property||Beautiful classic French farmhouse renovated to a very high standard, set in 2.5 acres of garden.
The property is situated in a small hamlet surrounded by acres of well-tended arable land, the many farm tracks between the fields are ideal for some lovely walks (about an hour to the nearest bar/restaurant) especially if you have dogs.
A downstairs bedroom and wet room make this property ideal for wheelchair users.

Where do i start about this wonderful place....
The accommodation is spacious , clean and not like any rental you will find. The bedrooms are beautiful and on arrival hard to decide which one to have as they are all equally nice. Bathroom are equipped and decorated to a high standard as is the whole house. In the kitchen you will find everything you will ever need and there is plenty of cutlery, pot and pans etc. There wasn't one single thing that i though "oh wish i had that "... The living quarters downstairs is extremely comfortable and the games room is kitted out with everything .. You will never get bored if the weather is bad.
Then we come to the outside space again this was just the cherry on the cake - lots of space and a great bbq area - we ate outside every evening even when it was slightly cooler. The pool was crystal clear and is huge.. To top all this your back garden is acres of greenery and your neighbours are 7 beautiful horses. This really is an amazing find and Sarah and Tom are the nicest people you will ever come across ... If you book this Gite believe me you will not be disappointed as we are extremely fussy and this place just ticks all the boxes... Thank you Sarah and Tom for letting us have your home for the week you can see you have put in a lot of hard work and you should be very proud xx
Thank you Annette for such a wonderful review, and thank you so much for leaving the house immaculate, especially as you had 3 lovely dogs with you. You are a lovely, conscientious family, it was a pleasure to have you as our guests. You are welcome anytime. Tom and Sarah
What a wonderful holiday home. Pool, house, facilities, cleanliness - everything is all you could wish for. The house is in a quiet location - but this did not affect us at all. The kids loved the bike ride to the local boilangeries in the mornings. The pool and outdoor area are amazing. Plenty of things do to around. Niort, La Eochelle and Ile de Re were among our favourites.
We were met by Sarah, the owner, who was very helpful and friendly, it was also not a problem to contact her during the week.
A fabulous holiday. Children’s ages range from 11 to 16 and there was not one “I’m bored”.
An all round winner. I would recommend to everyone.
Thank you Debra I’m so glad you all had such a wonderful time and a huge thank you for leaving the Gite so clean. You are welcome any time.
what a great find , everything you could want, like a home from home!
clean, comfortable, amazing pool!!
wonderful greeting from Sarah and Tom they could not have been more helpful ,
The local area is fantastically french with great local pattiserrie and crepes restaraunt
We booked this very last minute but can honestly say this was possibly our best ever family trip to date
i can not leave this review without also saying a big thankyou to trigger our newly adopted dog!!
if you have the chance to book this amazing gite do not delay!!!
Thank you Darren I’m glad you had such a wonderful time. It was a pleasure having you to stay with your lovely children and leaving the house immaculate. You are welcome again any time (especially by Trigger).
The Gite Beauvais is a lovely big bright gite nestled peacefully amongst the French farming countryside.
We were a large family party of varying ages but at no point did we ever feel "On top" of each other.
The bedrooms and bathrooms up stairs are very nicely decorated and are spacious with plenty of storage space.
The pool table was a real winner with the children as was the very large toy supply.
Outside the entertaining space is delightful, offering a generous area in which to congregate, entertain and enjoy.
The large green area was brilliant for the children in which to run and play.
And the pool was a lovely decent sized pool that was in constant use with all.
However teething points to note:
1: The outside area- when the sun shines the steps are hard to differentiate. 6 of our party cut the back of their heels from not being able to see the steps in the sun.
2: Downstairs wet room - finished well but when wet becomes lethal also it's the only toilet for the whole downstairs so hard to keep dry with children in and out of the pool. I would say it isn't wheelchair friendly as no rails or supports for those of impaired mobility.
3: The pool cover is very child safe but not automatic. It's extremely heavy and 2 strong persons are needed to move it. It isn't an easy or quick job.
Communications with the owner Sarah was always easy and prompt and she was able answer any questions we had easily and quickly for us.
Thank you Mary, I am glad you had such a wonderful stay. We hadn't realised the under edge of the slabs are so sharp (as no one else has mentioned this) so we will file them to a smooth edge. The pool cover has metal supports to make it secure.....my husband and I manage it and it only takes a few minutes. There are mats provided to keep the bathrooms dry, and a handrail is a good idea if we are really wheelchair friendly. Many thanks for your helpful comments and for keeping the house so beautifully clean. You are welcome anytime. Sarah and Tom.
Just to update you Mary the outside steps are now covered in nonslip mats and make the patio area very well defined even in the brightest sunlight, there are also a number of nonslip mats throughout the house and into the wet room to keep the floors dry. We also have an electrical device for the pool cover enabling it to be covered and removed by one person very easily.
