You will find the contemporary style complements the rustic charm and feel of this exceptional farmhouse, which also benefits from free wi-fi/internet access and UK free satellite channels.
From the courtyard you have access to the gamesroom, containing snooker/pool table, table tennis, dart board, frenchdoors lead from the gamesroom onto a large terrace with large dining table, sunloungers overlooking the 10 metre by 5 metre swimming pool. From this relaxing vantage point there are views over the surrounding farmland.
La Batonnière, is centrally located for those wishing to see the best the region has to offer, the coast at La Rochelle and the Marais Poitevin to the west, Puy du Fou to the North and Futuroscope at Poitiers to the east amongst many others.
The local area also offers many sporting and leisure pursuits including cycling, golf, walking, horse riding, fishing and watersports, there is an ever expanding information folder in the house outlining all the regional attractions.
There are local shops and supermarkets with a 5 miles radius, or for the larger supermarkets and shopping there is Niort and Saint Maixient.

The large kitchen at La Batonnière, is very well equipped and has a lovely oak farmhouse table which is marvelous gathering place for a large group to dine or for fun after-dinner games or plan the days activities.
All the conveniences of home - big range gas cooker, full size fridge-freezer; dishwasher; microwave, toaster, wine fridge and new for 2018 a Nescafe Dolce Gusto machine

For the slightly more adventurous, just a short drive is the local lake "Plan d'Eau" with sandy beach, water-slide, mini-golf and fishing. It is also the home of WoodWakeParc 79 offering a variety of water-sport activities.
The courtyard garden has a terrace with covered dining area to start your day with breakfast and alfresco dining, charcoal bbq, ornamental fish pond, and a bird table should you wish to feed the local wildlife.
Spacious lawned gardens surrounding the 10x5m seasonal swimming pool of 10 metres x 5 metres x 1.2 metres deep with a shallow edge and available from around 9 in the morning until late at night (from the end of April until early October).
The pool is fully alarmed to comply with regulations.

Cinéscénie - this spectacular show involves 2,000 actors on a stage. Lasting for 1 hour 40 minutes, and is usualy held on weekend evenings during the summer
Sometimes known as Venise Verte - ie Green Venice because of the hundreds of waterways that form thus large area north of Niort.
You can take a boat ride along the lovely Marais Poitevin from any nearby village where you see the sign Embarcardere, alternatively you can hire a bike or simply take a gentle stroll along the paths that criss cross the canals.
Just an hour away is La Rochelle, a bustling sophisticated town with historic buildings, smart shops, colourful markets, lots of sea food restaurants, small bistros and brasseries. It even has a beach and home to the world famous Aquarium.
