We had a lovely stay at La Jaudonnière. The grounds are incredible with a huge lawn, lovely swimming pool (which is fenced, ideal when you have young children), swing set and slide and a fantastic gazebo with barbecue for evening meals. There were a lot of toys for the children to play with both indoor and outdoor, we were travelling with 4 children aged between 2 and 5. Inside the house there is a lovely big open plan kitchen diner and the kitchen is very well equipped. Pat and Gill the owners are lovely and were incredibly helpful but equally did not impose on us in any way at all. We hope to go back again, thankyou for a lovely stay!
A lovely give with a great pool and BNW area. We had our children therein husbands and the three grandchildren all enjoyed themselves immensely. Our grandchildren are 20, 16 and 7.. We are in ours sixties and all of us had nothing but praise for the gite. The grounds are large and very quiet. The polis great and we only ventured out a couple of times. Would recommend the valley of the singe. Our weather was very kind to us and the stars at night are fantastic. Alain, the next door neighbour let us fish in his pond, where there are late carp, perch an tench along with various other fishes. Try the worms, which worked for us. Would highly recommend this as a place for families. Many thanks to Pat for renting us the week.
The house itself is very large and spacious, a large kitchen with all the necessary equipment. The lounge is well furnished with a flat screen TV that has a large amount of channels and the log fires came in handy on the chillier nights. The upstairs has four bedrooms but you will have to get used to ducking under a beam to use the shower and toilet. The bedrooms are spacious and have adequate storage although there is only one upstairs toilet between the four bedrooms. There is an on suite shower room to one bedroom and another good sized shower room as well as a toilet and shower on the ground floor. The grounds of the house are very well maintained and there is plenty of room for everyone to roam or just relax on the plentyfull garden furniture supplied. The gazebo provides a great place to eat and spend the evening whilst watching the stars. The large pool is big enough to cater for all guests to use at the same time. The water was very clean and the pool area enclosed to prevent toddlers getting in on their own. The location is within a small friendly hamlet away from any noise. This does however mean that there is a drive to the nearest shops or supermarket about 10 miles away but this is compensated for by the beautiful location, tranquil setting and gentle walking. If you enjoy bird life, you will love it here. I would recommend the house to anyone who loves peace and quite and families who like to enjoy home comforts and a relaxing environment.
