We found the Gite to be a beautiful place to stay & especially loved being able to sit by the river.
My husband, my father and myself moved here from Berkshire in the UK in August 2014 to run our Gite business. We love France and the French people who are always so polite and friendly. We have 3 grown up children who love to visit when they can.

There are lots of local markets in the area on different days of the week, there's something special about a French Market, wandering through a traditional French Market taking in the atmosphere, you can purchase local fresh fruit, vegetables, cheeses and honey and then stop for a coffee or a glass of wine as the locals do !!

There are so many Chateaux to visit in the Loire, so if you love to visit a Chateaux you couldn't be in a better area, you have Villandy with it's beautiful gardens, Azay le Rideau set in a Lake, Chenonceau on the river Cher and you also have Le Rivau with it's fairy-tale gardens and many more !!
This cottage was a "little piece of heaven", in the most beautiful setting by the River Cruise in france. Dawn and John were there to welcome us and to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. It was immaculately clean and had everything we needed....we made friends as with the chickens who provided our eggs in return and could not have been more comfortable. We look long and hard when we choose our accommodation (with fishing for chris in mind) and this was a gem!! Wildlife was amazing with kingfisher and birds aplenty and with peace and tranquility .....could not speak highly enough of this gite and beautiful places to visit. We will be back!!
Thanks for your lovely review, it was great to meet you all, we are so pleased you had such a lovely stay here. We look forward to seeing you all again soon.
Dawn and John provide an excellent gite in a perfect spot. Very thoughtful hosts (the welcome pack was excellent). Great spot for touring the area and exploring the region. Excellent fishing at the bottom of the garden. The gite was completely equipped for all our needs including fresh eggs from the resident chickens!
This is an extremely well-equipped gite, tastefully decorated and in a beautiful riverside setting. It is the attention to detail that makes it perfect. From the generous welcome pack to the comprehensive information folder, that even contains a blue disc for easier parking, Dawn and John seem to have thought of everything and are excellent hosts,
There are many places to visit in the area and having visited several of the chateaux previously this time we enjoyed the Vallée des Singes, Descartes with the informative museum dedicated to the philosopher, markets in Descartes and Loches, Saumur and a visit to the Gratien and Meyer Cave to buy our favourite “fizz” .
We stayed from 21-28 October 2017.
We thoroughly recommend this gite.
Thank you Beryl for taking the time to write about our Gite, we are so pleased that you had a lovely time here, we try really hard to make sure all our guests have the perfect holiday and it's good to hear that we are getting it right!!! Thank you to you both for being 10 out of 10 guests!!! Hope to see you again in the future.
We recently visited Fleurs de Glycine on our trip around Northern France. Siuated on the banks of the River Creuse, a lovely spot to relax after a days sight seeing and just a short walk into Descartes is a lovely garden/ arboretum to have a picnic. Easy to reach just off the A10. We would like to thank Dawn for providing a fabulous Gite. 10/10
