Traditional Farmhouse Set In Small Hamlet.. This cottage/gite is in a rural setting.

This traditional farmhouse, adjoining the owners property, is situated in a small rural hamlet just 10km from Civray and 6km from Charroux, with direct access to open countryside. 
It is ideally suited to those seeking a tranquil and relaxing holiday enjoying rural life and wildlife with ample opportunity for rambling and cycling.
There are a number of surrounding villages with bars and restaurants, around 10-20 minutes drive or on foot for those who enjoy walking.

The nearest market town, Civray is just 10 minutes drive, holding twice weekly markets with local produce, fresh fish and meat.  There are also local supermarkets, bakers and butchers. 
The property is well situated for local attractions such as La Vallee des Singes - Monkey Valley and Parc de la Belle - a beautiful floral park with entertainment for children; Val de Vienne motor racing circuit, just 30 minutes away and for those seeking culture and entertainment, Poitiers, home of Futuroscope, Angouleme, famous for its classic sports car racing, taking place in September and Limoges renowned for its porcelain - all around 45-60 minutes drive but well worth a trip out as are Cognac around 1 hr 30m and La Rochelle around 2 hrs but a beautiful day out.

Throughout the Summer there are a number of music festivals locally and in the surrounding area, mostly free to attend. Please contact the owners specific local information by date.
The region is well served by Ryanair flights from the UK to Poitiers and Limoges around 50-60 minutes away, and ferries from the UK to the North and North West of France. Brittany Ferries offer a 20% discount on ferry crossing for confirmed bookings - please see details on website.
Towels and linen are provided and changed weekly.
On-site laundry facilities are available at minimal charge.
Food hampers for your arrival are available on request.
The property is non-smoking however permitted in the garden.  Sorry, no pets!
Any special need requirements can be discussed with the owners directly.
Rates for extended/reduced stays, should you be house hunting/relocating can be arranged directly with owners.
Rates quoted are in Sterling and are also accepted in Euro at current exchange rate.
Changeover day is normally Saturday, however other dates may be arranged by contacting the owners directly. 
A deposit is required with booking form, which will be sent upon confirmation of dates with full terms and conditions. The deposit is deductible from the balance which is payable 8 weeks prior to arrival date. 
There is refundable security deposit of £150, payable with balance and refunded following departure and inspection of property.

The kitchen/dining room is fitted with electric multi-function oven and gas hob, microwave/combination oven, coffee-machine, toaster, fridge-freezer and dishwasher.

2 double en suite - 1 ground floor suitable for anyone with reduced mobility - please contact owners for more information.

1 double and 1 twin - both served by a ground floor shower room and wc.

Each bathroom has its own hairdryer.

There are cots, high chairs and stroller available for babies and a child safety gate.

The property is centrally heated - included in price for October rentals and has a log burning stove for winter rentals - logs at small additional charge. Room fans provided for summer rentals.


There are local festivals throughout the summer with Nuits Romanes providing spectacular shows and Les Heures Vagabones, concerts, both free entertainment with local shows.

There are also local music festivals in Civray - Fil du Son and Confolens - Festival de Confolens, dance and music of the world, just 30 minutes drive.

Local bars also provide musical entertainment and there are a number of restaurants in the surrounding villages and towns.
