About this property

Beautifully Renovated 3 Bedroom Farmhouse. This cottage/gite is in a rural setting.

In the centre of a small hamlet of only 8 houses, surrounded by sunflower fields, you will find La Petite Ferme, a 3 bedroom farmhouse with private, enclosed garden. Set in a further 3 acres of gardens, with direct access onto signposted walking routes and rural chemins, making it ideal for those seeking a relaxing taste of rural France, in one of France's sunniest regions.
The farmhouse originally dating back to the late 1700s, was restored from a complete ruin in 2015, La Petite Ferme now offers luxurious, spacious accomodation in the tranquil, sunflower strewn Vienne countryside of South-West France.
Once a derelict farmhouse, now completely renovated to a high standard, La Petite Ferme offers luxurious 3 bedroom accomodation suitable for up to 7 guests, plus 1 baby or small child.
The house has been completely renovated throughout and is new to the market for July 2016, providing luxurious, spacious accommodation, furnished with french antique finds, equipped with all mod cons, and a real home from home. Convenient for Futuroscope, Vallee des Singes, Poitiers and many other notable attractions La Petite Ferme offers great family activities. There are also regular markets in the surrounding towns and villages nearby, and most weekends throughout the summer nearby brocantes and flea markets are the ideal place to hunt out some treasures and souvenirs of your holiday.
Outdoor activities such as kayaking, fishing and horse riding are all available locally, and bikes are available to hire and are a great way to navigate the (thankfully mostly flat!) quiet local country lanes. For those in search of culture the romanesque churches of the region offer a wealth of history and Poitiers town centre with its roman ruins offers a great day out. Cognac and La Rochelle are also within 90 minutes drive.
We look forward to welcoming you at La Petite Ferme for a very special holiday.

About the Owner/Advertiser, Miss Alexandra Blair

We are Alex and Pat, and we moved to the Vienne in South-west France in April 2012, together with our border-collie puppy Lilly and our tabby cat Eric. We have since amassed many other animals, including another border collie, lots of chickens and 2 donkeys! We have spent the past few years renovating our house and others, in between exploring the area and sampling the local wine! Alex has a passion for interior design, so you will find La Petite Ferme decorated with French antiques too!

Year property purchased 2015
Why this location? We first moved to our quiet corner of the French countryside in May 2012, after searching for over 2 years to find our perfect place. However, 3 years later, having happily settled in the hamlet, having finished renovating our property and now enjoying life to the full, the chance to purchase what seemed like half the hamlet at the time. Of course, we jumped right in, securing the derelict buildings for what we thought to be a steal, but terrifying our family and friends in the process! They thought we must be insane to leave our tranquil idyll in search of more renovation work!!
Nevertheless, inspired by a vision of how these building could be transformed, we embarked upon our latest renovation, and, amidst disasters such as the walls collapsing on the barn before the new roof could be constructed!, we now have 2 lovely buildings rescued from piles of crumbing stones. One of which, the barn, we live in now, and we are separated from our gite, La Petite Ferme by a courtyard garden.
Unique benefits of property Convenient for Futuroscope, Vallee des Singes, Poitiers and many other notable attractions La Petite Ferme offers great family activities.
